Lonnie Bailey used his front row starting spot to his advantage Sunday night at Quincy Raceways to take the win in the first points night in the IMCA Budweiser Late Model feature event. Bailey didn’t have it easy as he first had to hold off the charges of Jamie Wilson thru the first fourteen circuits of the 30 lap main event. Wilson slipped up on the fifthteenth circuit to give a shot to veteran Jim Swank. Swank challenged Bailey to the checkered flag but had to settle for second with Mark Burgtorf in close pursuit for third. Fourth went to Wilson with Mike Karhoff in fifth. Mike Dyche and Burgtorf were the heat race winners while 2002 Track Champion Brent Slocum taking the win in the Summer Tire Trophy Dash.

Tom Goble and Vance Wilson put on quite a show for the first half of the twenty lap Miller Lite A-Modified feature event as Goble held off the repeated challenges of Wilson until the eleventh lap when Goble slid high in turn 2 to let Wilson take the lead. Wilson then held off the field to take the feature win over Ryan Meyer in second, Michael Long in third, Goble in fourth and Jerry Weisenberger in fifth. Hank Delonjay and Meyer were the heat race winners while Wilson scored the win in the P&S Auto & Truck Collision Repair trophy dash.

2002 Quincy Raceways B-Modified Track Champion Marty Hull looked the part as he took the 20 lap feature win. Hull grabbed the lead away from Rob Carter on the eighteenth circuit after doggedly pursuing Carter through the field. Hull hung on for the win with Terry Houston in second, Carter in third, Bobby Cookson in fourth and Joe Bliven in fifth. Bliven, Carter and Tony Dunker were the heat race winners.

The Bomber feature event was a barn burner as 2002 Bomber Track Champion Eddie Dieker battled Billy Genenbacher and Rusty Birch in a three car war to the checkered flag. Dieker took the win with Genebacher in second, Birch in third, Larry Powell in fourth and Steve Carlin in fifth. Brent Chapman, Genebacher and Birch were the heat race winners.
