Inside Line Promotions - EAGLE, Neb. (Sept. 10, 2014) - Josh Baughman's weekend landed upside down in Nebraska.
Baughman was involved in a wild flip in turns three and four during the ASCS Midwest Region feature at Eagle Raceway on Sunday, when he ended off the racing surface and against a fence with a 14[sup]th[/sup]-place result.
"It was my first good flip of the year," he said. "The track was great at Eagle. It was real racy. There was a top and a bottom. We were up on the fence. I just made one mistake."
Baughman had rebounded into the top 10 during the feature after he placed seventh in a heat race and fourth in a B Main.
"We started 18[sup]th[/sup] and made it up to about seventh," he said. "I just got over the curb and flipped it over the fence."
The crash capped a weekend that began at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction on Saturday.
"The track wasn't real racy," he said. "In our heat race we got kinda jammed up. We had to come out of the B Main and started at the back of the A Main. It rubbered up early, we rode around and that's how it ended."
Baughman finished fifth in his heat race, fourth in the B Main and 15[sup]th[/sup] in the main event.
He will take this weekend off before tackling the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour's Midwest Fall Brawl at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., on Sept. 19-20.
