Inside Line Promotions - ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 13, 2019) - The Swindell SpeedLab sprint car team scored its fifth top 10 of the season last Friday at Eldora Speedway during the opening night of the scheduled World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader.

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Christopher Bell guided the Plan B Sales sponsored team to a sixth-place finish, which was a great outing after the night started slower than anticipated.

"I think we underdid some things trying to find ways to make him happier," team co-owner Kevin Swindell said. "We did 80 percent of it right, but missed on a couple of things. The last 10 laps of the A Main I think you could have put us against anyone at that point."

The team qualified 11th quickest in its group to open the competition, which featured 49 drivers split into two groups. Bell then rallied from fourth and he made a last-lap pass in a heat race to finish second, which locked the team into a dash.

"The first night we just missed a little bit and that put us behind," Swindell said. "Luckily, he bailed us out in the heat race."

A fourth-place result in a dash lined Bell up eighth for the main event.

"I think our overall balance got a bit nicer throughout the race once everything moved around and we got some heat in the tires," Swindell said. "Whether we got better or everybody else fell off, we ran the same laps. Our best lap was like Lap 5 and we duplicated it on Lap 22."

Bell bounced around near the back of the top 10 for most of the feature before a late charge earned a sixth-place result.

"We felt car-wise we could be a lot better," Swindell said. "That was a bad night in our terms. To run sixth with the Outlaws at Eldora was pretty good."

Bell set quick time during his group's qualifying session to open Saturday's show. Unfortunately, rain invaded the area during heat races and washed out the remainder of the event.

"Knowing we were rolling from the pole of a heat race and could be more creative on seeing how our car drove for more than two laps at a time out of dirty air was huge," he said. "I think we made enough gains we can go back and do it again."
