Belle Clair champs

I know there is three races left, but I think it is safe to declair the champs in at least two classes at Belle Clair Speedway. Frankie Martin should be the UMP Late Models champion for the third consecutive year and by a big margin. Paul Bauman is the champion for the Allied Sportsmen with a big lead.

Modified are pretty close. Dean Hoffman 1480 points and Bobby Bittle 1386 with 3 weeks to go. Any predictions on most improved driver or rookie's in any of the classes at Belleville??

I would like to say that Brett Korves should get the rookie of the year in the bombers. And if there was a sportmanship award to be given i would say Mike Harris and Brian Eaves should get that.

For rookie's I would have to say:

Pure stock - Brett Korves 25
Sportsman - Rich Tettaton T2
Mods - Dave Seger 22

Most improved:

Pure stock - Randy Dietzel 95 or Don Phillips 00
Sportsman - Wahoo 17 or Brian Eaves 44
Mods - Denny Tribout Jr. 25

Not sure who is up for ROTY in pure stock but Brett would be my choice, runs up front alot and has won several heats and a feature!

sportsman rookie...T2 (has gotten better through out the year)

Mod rookie...22 (has some good finishes the last part of the year)

latemodels...is there a pure rookie? Did saltydog run @ bellville last year, standridge?

Not sure where some of the guys finished last year but Wahoo, Eaves, and Shubirg are good candidates for most improved. Unless of course I finish 2nd this year. I would have moved up 4 spots from last year, maybe that puts me in the running as well.

I think Tribout Jr would have been most improved had he run a full year. He has the car finally figured out. Maybe Mark Clary, he had the new car working good all year. Though I don't know where he finished last year.

what about Tommy???? lol...

If my husband finishes 2nd 3rd or 4th he moves up atleast 4 spots from last year....finished 8th last year.....9th the year before....Just my thoughts!!!

That's true, Tommy has been in the top 4 in points most of the season compared to last year. Wahoo finished 20th last year in points and is running 8th right now. It is gonna be a tough one. JMO!

ok..I have no life and figured this out...

If they determined most improved driver by moving up spots in points only not races raced....as of right now

Wahoo is up 12 from last year
Eaves is up 11 from last year
Shubirg & Tyson Jr are up 8 from last year
Seymour is up 7 from last year
Kurtz & Smallwood are up 4
Harris is up 3
Bauman is up 2

Ok like I said I have no life...LOL...Some of these drivers did not race a full season last year though and Im not sure how it is determined.

Rainout Date?

Does anyone out there know if Belleclair is running tomorrow night (9-9)?
It's supposed to be a rainout date for sprints. I haven't seen anything on the forum or on Belleclairs' site. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks, Retired

I said I didn't know where some guys finished last year. I didn't think those guys (Tommy included) finished that far back last year. Wow, some of those are big jumps.

Mike

ps. BTW...Amy...get a life girl. LOL

Late Model rookie of the year should go to John Lansford in the #42 wouldn't ya think? Heat wins, semi wins, dash wins, and feature win? John has only been in a late model about 4 or 5 months and if he'd ran all season at Belle-Clair he'd easily be top 5 or 10 in points.

Definitely not Standridge....he has been around for awhile...lol...love watching him and Frankie battle though.

LAte Model rookie should be Lansford...he is a pure late model rookie...Salty ran last year alot at Godfrey.

Who should get best appearing car??
Late Model: Bob Brown
Mod: Bobby Johnson
Sportsman: ????
Bomber: ????

If you ran part of last season...can you be considered a rookie???

Hey Chewin i think if you run like 5 nights in a season you can't be considered a rookie the following year. I think that number is correct but don't hold me to it. See you Friday.

Tom

Wow, I did not start this for all this, but just some pure info.
There are other things that Allied uses, but some of the points mentioned are good points to think about. Whatever happens and whoever get what awards, it has been a good season and too bad it has come to an end too soon. I thought we just started last month and it it is now September.
Whoever wins what awards you earned them for the reason you won them. Let's wait until the banquet and see who gets what.
I can tell you who did what over the last few years if it makes a difference and Amy may have done a good job without looking it up.

if we are casting votes on the issue rookie should go to Dave most improved driver would be tribout, in the mods dont really have time to watch any of the other guys race (sorry)
