Belle-Clair

Was anyone else suprised at how dry the track at Belle-Clair was tonight? I was expecting some awesome multi-grove racing, but was severly disappointed.

Congratulations to Jim Morrison on his feature win from the Burwell Team!

You made the wrong choice as there was good racing at Belle Clair with the LM feature going green.

You must be talking about dustville. Who do we send the cleaning bill to. i've watched sprint cars and latemodels in the dry times of summer but have never seen a dust storm like that. heck went in the restroom when leaving and whiped off my face with awet towl, got home and thought my hair grew back in one night but then realized it was dirt. is belleville usually like this? i'm only planning on returning with the car no more sitting in the stands(i'm so lucky my wife didn't go would have been gone after hotlaps on the way back to mo). But thought it was a good night of racing. thought the guys in the mod semi did a great pretty clean follow the leader run front three guys bumper to bumper but kept em straight.

Yes it was dusty!

But it was a graet night of racing, lots of two and three wide. How else could Dean Hofman spin, go to the back, and race back to fifth. And what about Don Klien and Mike Schulte in the consi. side by side almost the entire race.
Did anyone who started on the pole finish there?

Maybe some of you are just spoiled. Thats a shame...

You got that right about Tommy Smallwood's pass! Looked like they filmed that for a racing show on "how-to-do-it-right"! Way to go Weatherman!

Yes, it was dusty, but then you always get dirty when you go to a stock car dirt track race. That's what they made showers for! It all cleans off!

Pure Stock results for Belleville

This is probably going to get me in BIG TROUBLE with Jack Pugh, but I've given him every chance to redeem himself for years!

PureStock/Bomber results for Belle-Clair (which J. Pugh refuses to post, and I still don't know why, but I ask him every single week!):

Heat #1--Tim Haeffner (110), Bob or Scott Goodman (I don't know who was driving it this week) (15), Brett Korves (25), Curt Paule (18), Mike Reagan (53), Dennis Ponder or whoeever he sold the car to? because I think I heard that mentioned (7), Sean Keilbach (19), Don Phillips (00)

Heat #2--Jake Hewitt (6), Charley Gaultney (97), Casey Schaefer (11), Jim Stevens (92), Shawn Yates (75), Bill Qualls (30), Jennifer Hedtkamp (44), Jason Davinroy (12)

Heat #3--Tony Miller (122), Scott Ponder (8), Kevin Dietzel (9), Dwayne Batemen (69), Randy Dietzel (95), Greg Sargent (40), Louis Taylor (24)

Dash--Tim Haeffner (110), Jake Hewitt (6), Scott Ponder (8), Charley Gaultney (97), Tony Miller (122), Bob or Scott Goodman? (15)

Semi--Bill Qualls (30), Jason Davinroy (12), Don Phillips (00), Sean Keilbach (19), Dennis Ponder or whovever was driving? (7), Jennifer Hedtkamp (44), Greg Sargent (40)

Feature--Scott Ponder (8), Tim Haeffner (110), Tony Miller (122), Brett Korves (25), Charley Gaultney (97), Curt Paule (18), Kevin Dietzel (9), Casey Schaefer (11), Don Phillips (00), Mike Reagan (53), Jason Davinroy (12), Randy Dietzel (95), Jim Stevens (92), Shawn Yates (75), Bob or Scott Goodman (15), Bill Qualls (30), DNF Jake Hewitt (6), DNF Dwayne Bateman (69).

I copied the numbers from the results board, and wasn't paying that close attention to who DNF'd or not.

I know that Jake Hewitt was leading the race all the way when he broke an axle with only just a few laps to go. Tough luck, Jake, you had that race sewed up for sure until it broke! But I know how you feel--Jimmy suffered the same fate with those broken axles costing him many a feature at both Belleville and Highland in his Bomber days

I also went by the numbers, so I'm not so sure if someone else was driving the car for the night or not..I did my best.

Casey Schaefer did some really nice driving last night. She's an up-and-comer in this division! Watch out for this girl, boys!

Belleville dust bowl

Come on Allied. How in the world can we get 2 inches of rain on Thursday and then come to watch the races and see a dust bowl during hot laps!? Did the water truck spring a leak? I like dirt racing more than most and I actually got my daughter and left during intermission. The dust wasn't the only reason for leaving early but the biggest one.

I also agree with the Klein/Schulte battle in the semi as one of the highlights of Belle-Clair 2004. And the Smallwood pass was risky but perfectly made. Highligh video for sure and the only way he was going to move up a position.

The racing was awesome and since I left early, how in the world did Frankie Martin NOT win the feature after drawing number 1 starting spot?? Not that Morrison isn't good as he is a very strong weekly contender, but when Frankie starts at the front it's usually over. And where was Hammerle during the flag presentation and in the feature?? Now I'll hang up and listen.....

AM IN THE PM!

well frankie didnt win because morrison gave him a little help! Frankie and morrison both ran away from the field! they were a half a lap or more ahead of third frankie was way ahead and got held up by lapped traffic and morrison passed him clean then frankie passed him back clean but morrison got a good run on him outa 4 and frankie was low then morrison just cut down on frankie and frankie was gonna hit the inside wall in between 1n 2 so he had to spin it to keep from running head on into it! so he spun it back around and ended up 3rd! so great job to frankie! morrison was rteally hungry for a win though!

Sounds like I missed a heck of a feature at the Dust Bowl! Wished I'd have stayed later now. Thanks very much for the replies. See you all there next Friday! Happy Holidays and remember the ones who died for us!

Even the Pure Stock feature was one of the best races this year. Could have been any of the top five that won.
