From Big River Sand Drags:

We are going to have a Benefit Race for Seth Barnes on May 10th. I read an article in today's paper about Seth.

Seth is 4yrs old with Leukemia (Since Nov 2007). His family lives in French Village. While they do have health insurance, his mother has to stay home and take care of him. They make trips to St Louis quite often for Radiation/Chemo and its just getting so expensive. Anyway, a portion of the proceeds from gate fee will be given to them. As well as a 50/50 drawing and a quite auction will be held. All pay outs for racing will remain the same We need to have some business's donate. If you know if anyone can donate, just call James at 573-225-8360.

Lets come together as a Racing Family and step up and help this Little Boy.Here is the article from the paper thanks for any support you can give .

A fundraiser is being scheduled for Seth Barnes of French Village, a 4-year-old recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Jennifer Barnes has organized the benefit, in which a number of items will be given away.

She writes, "Seth is the typical 4-year-old little boy. He was rough, tumble and full of energy. Recently, we have seen Seth change. You see, he was diagnosed with leukemia and the energetic Seth has become less energetic from his treatments.

"Seth requires daily radiation and chemotherapy treatments weekly, and this requires that mom or dad be available daily, not only for his drive to St. Louis, but to care for him."

Jennifer Barnes can be reached at 631-7801 for details about the fundraiser. The donated items will be given away Friday and include such things as 18 holes of golf at Terre Du Lac Country Club, gift cards to Subway, Cici’s Pizza, Farmington Waterpark, Fidgetts and Gliks, beach towels, cooler, sprinklers and more.
