Big Ten Series Super & Pro Late Models Set For Openers


Macon Payout & Tire Rule Announced

MACON, Ill. — The Big Ten Series openers for Super Late Models and Pro Late Models are set for this weekend after a tight point battle in Big Ten Super action one year ago. 2015 will mark the first season of Big Ten Pro Late Model action.

For the Supers, action will take place at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday night, May 8 and at Macon Speedway on Saturday night, May 9. For the Pros, they will be competing in a standalone event on Friday night at Lincoln and running the second event of their schedule on Saturday at Macon with the Supers.

$1,200 will be up for grabs to the winner in Saturday night’s event at Macon with $125 to start. The tire rule will be LM40 only for both rear tires, while front tires can be LM20 or LM40.

In addition to races at Jacksonville and Macon, the Super Late Models will also run at Belle-Clair and Quincy during the course of the year. For the Pros, events are scheduled this year at Lincoln, Macon, and Jacksonville.

The champion in the Super class takes home $1,500 from the $4,000 points fund. In the Pros, the champion will take home $1,000 from the $3,000 point fund.

More info about this Saturday here at Macon:
Big Ten Super Late Model and Pro Late Models are going to be running together this Saturday May 9th at Macon Speedway. They will be racing for one purse. $1200 To Win $125 To Start. We are also going to offer the higest finishing crate car a $100 bonus. At the end of the night we will separate the crates and supers and give Big Ten points to each class accordingly.

Both the Pro Late Model and the Super Late Models will be receiving National UMP points for the Big Ten Event this Saturday!

For our Big Ten Super Late Model show this Friday at Jacksonville, we are basically adopting our weekly program and rules from Quincy.

Tires: Hoosier LM 30 or 40 on RR. LM 20 or 40 on other 3 corners
Format: Qualifying. Heats straight-up by qualifying. Feature lined up by heat finish, with dice roll inversion.
Purse $1,200 to win, $150 to start.

Pits open at 3:30. Pill draw closes at 6:00. Hot laps 6:30. Racing at 7:00

Also racing: Modifieds, Street Stocks, Hornets and BAM midgets.

For the crate teams, don't forget that our sister track in Lincoln will be hosting a Big Ten Pro Late Model Series race on Friday night as well..
 
RACE DAY UPDATE: As of 9am the races are still ON for tonight, please call 217-764-3000 or check back here after 12pm for another update. Racing tonight will be the Midwest Big Ten Series Super & Pro Late Models, Billingsley Towing Modifieds, B-Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets. Pit gates open at 4, grandstands open at 5 with racing starting at 7pm. General admission $15, Children 11 and under are FREE!
 
Due to the weather, races are CANCELED tonight. Next Saturday May 16th POWRi Midgets return to Macon Speedway.
