PONTOON BEACH, Ill. (April 7) – The long-awaited debut of America's premier dirt Modified drivers at the Tri-City Speedway is just days away.

The stars and cars of the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour invade the historic 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval this Friday, April 10, for the Inaugural Frostbuster at Kevin and Tammy Gundaker's famed speedplant.
The $2,000-to-win event will be the fifth of the season for the touring USMTS titans in the too-tough-to-tame Bear Tire Mo-Kan Region. Fresh off a clean sweep at the West Siloam Speedway last weekend, Jason Hughes of Westville, Okla., headlines the list of entries.

Other mud-slinging masters race fans can expect to see include Dustin Boney, Jon Tesch, Rodney Sanders, Johnny Bone Jr., Kelly Shryock, Steve Holzkamper, Scott Green, Zack VanderBeek, Chad Wheeler, Bryan Rowland, Dereck Ramirez, Tommy Myer, Kip Hughes, Jason Krohn, Don Crnkovich, Tate Cole, Tim Shields, Tony Jackson Jr. and many more.

Also competing against the “best of the best” in the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour will be NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace.

As if that weren't enough, also on the racing card will be a $10,000-to-win Late Model program, with names like Shannon Babb, Brian Birkhofer, Scott James, Don O'Neal, Jeep VanWormer, Jimmy Mars, Randy Korte, Brian Shirley, Dennis Erb, John Anderson, Kevin Weaver and many more already pre-entered.
Pit gates will open at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. and racing getting underway at 7 p.m.

The Tri-City Speedway is located 0.5 mile south of I-270 (Exit 4) on SR 203 in Pontoon Beach, Ill. For more information, call the track offices at 636-448-9111 or 618-931-7836 for raceday updates. The track's website is online at www.tricityspeedway.net.

On Saturday, April 11, the 24 Raceway in Moberly, Mo., hosts the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour for the second straight season. Last year's event drew national attention with a first-ever tie to end a USMTS main event as Jon Tesch and Zack VanderBeek crossed the stripe in a dead heat.

Officials are confident they have removed the limitations of human sight from deciding the outcome as AMB Timing & Scoring will be used at 24 Raceway, and at all USMTS events in 2009.

Gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps slated for 6:15 and the first green flag scheduled to wave at 7 p.m.

USRA Stock Cars will join the local Sportsman class and compete for national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series. B-Mods, Hobby Stocks and 4-Cylinders will also be on the racing card.

The 24 Raceway is a 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval located 3.5 miles east of US 63 on US 24. For more information, call 573-881-8861 or visit www.24racewayinmoberly.com on the World Wide Web.
