Billy James made it five wins in five trips to the Malden Speedway with his quick 5 Jr. Late Model. Joining James in victory lane were Mike Francis in Modified, Claudie Cook in the 54C Hobby Stock, Jeff Beeson in Street Stock, Justin McBroom in E-Mods, and the team of Adam Brown and Dustin Dunning in Cruisers.

In a race that went all the way without caution, Billy James led all 20 laps. James jumped out from the pole and started pulling away from the field. He had pushed the lead to three seconds over Todd Hall in second by the midway point. Hall started reeling James back in and had closed the gap to a couple of car lengths by lap 15. The lead pair encountered lapped traffic on lap 19 allowing Hall to close to James' bumper, but that was as close as it would get. Steve Karnes took third in his first trip back to the Speedway since early in the season. Welcome back Steve. Jeff Moss and John Stephens rounded out the top five. James also won the Heat race.

Todd Hall took over the lead in points from Scott Bell, who was absent from the track this week. John Stephens is running third, with Jeff Moss fourth, only 26 points back.

Mike Francis took advantage of Greg King's misfortune to pick up his third Modified feature of the year. Francis took the lead from the pole with King and Claudie Cook right in tow. The trio raced both as a triangle and three wide while they were jockeying for position. On lap 7, King moved under both Francis and Cook coming out of turn two to take the lead. King started pulling away from the field at that point and had built a commanding four-second lead before caution flew on lap 17. On the restart, King drove hard into turn one trying to hold off both Francis and Cook who were suddenly right back on his bumper. King slid sideways and high in the turn but righted himself coming out, but the damage was done as the field was jammed up and two cars collected each other midpack. The caution was charged to King and he was sent to the rear of the field and had to settle for an eighth place finish. Francis inherited the lead following the caution and raced the final three laps unchallenged for the win. Cook had his hands full fighting for second with Larry Hull. The pair raced the final lap side by side until Cook took the spot coming out of turn four. Tony Anglin took fourth and Tim Webb rounded out the top five. Francis and King won the heat races.

Claudie Cook took advantage of teammate Tony Anglin's bad luck and parlayed it into a Hobby Stock feature win. Anglin earned the outside front row in the heat races, but was called for jumping the start and sent to the rear of the field, giving Cook the front row starting position. Cook settled in behind pole sitter Doug Moore and the duel was on. In some of the best racing of the evening, Moore and Cook raced cleanly side by side for three laps before Cook took the lead out of turn four on the fourth lap. Cook and Moore separated themselves from the pack from that point. They encountered lapped traffic on lap 11 and Cook pulled away somewhat to end Moore's challenge for the top spot. Anglin dove under Scott Tracer on lap 11 to take third but it was too late to close the gap on the leaders. Tracer held on for fourth and Greg Sparks took fifth. Moore and Anglin won the heat races.

Jeff Beeson picked up his second Street Stock feature in a row Friday night.
Beeson opened the race in the lead from the pole position. He held the lead until lap 4 when Kyle Berry came around the outside on turn two to take over the top spot. Berry led until lap 9 when Beeson returned the favor coming around the outside on turn four to retake the lead. Johnny Houart took over the second spot from Berry a lap later but he suffered mechanical problems and fell back to seventh place after a good run. A caution on lap11 set up a four-lap dash to the finish. On the restart, Michael Lack shot past Berry into second and he was on Beeson's tail by turn three. Lack would hound Beeson the rest of the way, and took a daring charge into the final turn of the race to try for the lead. The move almost backfired as Lack slid high in turn four, but he was able to hold onto second. Berry took third. Doug Moore charged from way back to take fourth. Greg Casey rounded out the top five. Beeson, Danny Hampton, and Casey won the heat races.

The excitement continued following the race as there was some heated discussions going on the pits. Berry lodged a protest against Beeson requesting an engine tear down. Beeson passed the inspection and retained the win.

Justin McBroom survived a stiff challenge late from Tim Prine to pick up his sixth win of the year, fifth of the point season. Jeff Jarrell took the lead from the outside front row to start the race. McBroom passed him coming out off turn one on the second lap. Jarrell returned the favor a lap later, but it was nullified by a caution before the lap was finished. McBroom pulled away while Prine and Jarrell swapped the second spot back and fourth through the race. Prine took the position when Jarrell brought out the race's final caution flag with a spin in turn two on the seventh lap. McBroom and Prine dueled the rest of the way. Prine pulled a slide job pass attempt in turn two but could not make it stick coming onto the back straight. The leaders encountered lapped traffic with one to go, but McBroom found a safe path through for the win. Jarrell moved back through the field following his spin to take third. Tracy Redden and Todd Gibbs rounded out the top five.
McBroom and Jarrell won the heat races.
