(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) 1988, 1989, and 2005 World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion Billy Moyer, of Batesville, Arkansas, has decided against running with the series again in 2007. Billy, who has been a mainstay on the circuit since its re-inception in 2004, will be running an “outlaw-type”
schedule this coming year. Although he will still run several events with the 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series in ’07, the driver known as “Mr. Smooth” will chase money instead of points this season.

The five-time winner of the ‘World 100’ and National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member will kick off his 2007 season on Thursday, February 1 at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. After three nights of racing action at GIS, the driver of the familiar #21 machine will trek south to the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida for six more nights of competitive racing action on February 5-10. His busy Speedweeks 2007 schedule will conclude from February 12-17 at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.

“I just decided to go back to my old ways of racing where I want to instead of where I have to,” commented Moyer recently. “There would be a lot of times in the past three years with the Outlaws where I would drive right past a track that was paying $5,000 or $10,000 and go five hours further for the same amount of money. Since I am not points racing this year, I will be able to spend more time with Billy, Jr. both at the shop and at the track.
We didn’t get to race a lot together last year, but I hope that I can speed up his learning curve by racing more with him this season.”

The Billy Moyer Racing team is coming off a successful 2006 campaign, as they posted seven victories, twenty-nine Top Five finishes, and forty-eight Top Ten efforts in the seventy-four events that they entered last season.
Billy was also credited for a fourth place finish in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings after racking up two wins, twelve Top Five runs, and twenty-three Top Ten performances in the thirty series events in 2006.

The Billy Moyer Racing team would like to thank the following sponsors for their continued support: Banner Valley Hauling, Car City, C.J. Good to see that Billy is not confined by the points issues. I noticed he came to I-55 numerous times last season. Will his appearances be more regular this year with not having to deal with scheduling in the WOO events?
