(Muscatine, IA) Brian Birkhofer Racing picked up his third win in this
young season last Friday night at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, IA. It
was a Bud Open Shootout event that paid $6,000 to the winner. The team then
made the long trek to Gaffney, SC for Saturday night’s event and Gastonia,
NC for Sunday night’s race. Both races were Xtreme DirtCar Series
sanctioned events and paid $10,000 to win.

At Davenport on Friday night, it was business as usual for Brian Birkhofer
Racing. They were able to take the checkered flag, which makes it the
seventh straight time the #15b Seubert Calf Ranches / Double Eagle Sales &
Embroidery / Daufeldt Transport sponsored MasterSbilt Monte Carlo has
reached victory lane at Davenport.

“We have a pretty good car that we mainly use exclusively in Iowa,” said
Birkhofer from his shop on Tuesday. “It has won like seven straight at
Davenport and runs strong at all the other tracks up here.”

On Saturday night at Gaffney, it looked like Brian and his team would be in
contention for another victory as he was running third throughout the 50-lap
main event at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC, but made contact with
another competitor battling for the third position and was taken out. The
team did a great job to fix the damage the best they could, so Birky could
get valuable Xtreme DirtCar Series points. He ended up in the 13th
finishing position.

At the Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC on Sunday night, Brian started off
the evening with a bad qualifying effort, which left him starting his heat
race from the third row. He managed to make the main event by finishing
fourth in his heat race. He started 14th in the main event and battled his
way through the ultra-rough track surface and numerous wrecks to finish with
a solid 8th place finish. That enabled Brian and his team to garner the
fifth place position in the yearlong Xtreme DirtCar Series National Points
Championship. The Carolina Speedway event was taped by the SPEED Channel
for airing on May 8 at 9:00 p.m. E.S.T.

This weekend, Brian and his team will hopefully be debuting a new car at the
20th annual ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic’ at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN.
“We have a new car sitting here that is about 10% done, so we have to
thrash pretty hard this week to get it ready for Brownstown,” said Birky.
“Hopefully we can get it done and make it there in time to race on Saturday
night. If not, our next race will be the Xtreme event on April 26 at North
Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA.” Brian tasted victory the last time he
visited Brownstown Speedway, as he took home the 2001 ‘Jackson 100.’ This
weekend’s ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic’ pays $5,000 to the winner. For the latest
