(3/25/10) -- Despite not being in action nineteen (19) days straight, 2007 National RANKINGS champion Scott Bloomquist still leads the current National RANKINGS Top 5 standings. BLACK SUNSHINE has an 85-point lead over defending National RANKINGS champion Josh Richards, who was unable to crack a winners check in a recent World of Outlaw Late Model series two-race return to the South. KID-ROCKET who's already hit for the cycle (and we ain't even outta Spring Training), garnered a 4th place and runner-up in Florida and South Georgia, despite a National RANKINGS event being held in Bloomquist's home state of Tennessee over the weekend.

The DELEWARE DESTROYER Austin Hubbard is back at it, with the ole RICKY BOBBY impersonations. Seems when the 18yo. finds victory lane, which btw... has already been twice this season, he strips down to his undies and runs around with his helmet still on. So... who's the Jean Girard (antagonist) character of the WoOLM series and will we see the cougar on the front of the Dale Beitler # 19 "Reliable Painting, Salisbury Door & Hardware, Trinity Transport, CommonWealth 100" sponsored Rocket / Cornett Lightning powered Super Late Model any time soon? In the other WoOLM series event this past weekend, Darrell Lanigan notched his 2nd win of the 2010 season, beating TMAC to the $10,000 payday in Ocala, Florida.

Down South way.... The Southern RANKINGS is rolling rite along and Jonathan Davenport has taking the lead in the Top 5 standings. The racer known as SUPERMAN was in lethal flight Saturday at the Cleveland (TN) Speedway, keeping his # 49 "Elite Concrete, Cabinets by Design, Mega Plumbing, En Compass Solutions" sponsored Barry Wright / Clements powered racecar ahead of home-track and fan favorite Dale McDowell. It's JD's 2nd $10,000 payday, the first coming earlier in the month in Modoc, SC in a unrankable Crate LM race. Speaking of... Green Valley Speedway in Alabama is hosting the 2nd Annual Crate Nationals paying $25,000 to-WIN. Many a-SLM competitors are planning on entering this weekends MEGA MONEY event.

Ronnie Johnson picked up an impressive win this weekend. Friday night the winningest Southern All-Star racer took "W" #60 at the Boyd's Speedway a few miles from his Chattanooga, TN home. RJ impressed the crowd by sweeping the event from qualifying thru the 40 lap feature, beating the likes of 2008/2009 Southern RANKINGS champion Chris Madden, JD, defending S.A.S. champ Randy THE DREAM Weaver and Chris Wall. He accomplished all this with a new GM all aluminum CT525 crate motor. Over in the Carolina's THE CLASH series rocked into the 2010 season with a new winner. Dean Bowen of Whiteville, NC, took the $4,000 prize from the Gastina dirt track.

This weekend Brownstown, Indiana opens up with the Lucas Oil Dirt series, while the WoOLM's head to Texas for a pair of National RANKINGS scored shows. The Westminster (SC) Speedway kicks off the weekend Friday night (March 26th) with a $3,000 NDRA event, while Clarksville (TN) Speedway and 311 Motor Speedway in North Carolina host Southern RANKINGS events on Saturday night. Of mention Florence Speedway in Kentucky ran a $5,000 to-WIN event Saturday. Greg Johnson ran second to National RANKINGS competitor Don O'Neal and leads the Northern RANKINGS with one-race under it's Top 5 belt.
