It seems like we've never been able to get these two guys together on the same track, but I finally got it done. On Saturday, Sept. 25th, the two fastest Open 4x4s in the history of Big River Sand Drags will go at it toe-to-toe when Jimmy Bealmear of Mexico, Mo. and "Freedom" takes on Jerry Stephens of Wentzville, Mo. and "Blown Income" in a best two-out-of-three!!! You won't want to miss this one.

On September 5th, 2004, Jim Bealmear of Mexico, Missouri broke his own track E.T. Record of 2.672 seconds with an outstanding run of 2.626 seconds. Bealmear also owns the record for MPH at 121.75 mph, set on June 14, 2003. The records Bealmear broke were formerly held by Stephens.

I copied this off their internet site about the track:

WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!!!!!

Under 3 second et? Thats pretty impressive, blink and you missed it. I am not a drag racing fan by any means, but over 100' per second from a standing start is downright scary. On sand, no less.

Thanks guys. I have never been to sand drags myself, just thought I take my boy to see some diffent kind of racing.

What's really neat about Big River is you can bring your pickup or car or truck and pull it right along the track and watch from your car if you like. You can bring your barbecue grill and cooler and make an evening of it. You'll see everything from little 4 and 5 year old kids on ATV to the big boys. Sometimes the show gets long when we have a lot of ATVs, so we've tried to move the big stuff up. It's just different...

cblgy11 u really should bring your boy out 2 see these bad azz race cars, not only will u see these 2 cars doing over 100mph. but u can come watch a few 4wheerls that push 100mph or very close 2 it, how many people have seen a dune buggy with NOS on it that runs 80mph. Its just a great time, not only can u sit on your truck or whatever, but u can also walk 2 the pits, not only does your 8 dollars get u in the gate, it also gets u into the pits, the drivers are all very very friendly. BRSD is a very family orientated track most all cars bring all thier familes and most every trailer has a handufl of litte kids outside playing in the sand, so its fun for all ages, If u do bring your boy u might consider bringing some ear plugs these cars are very loud, if im not mistaking i believe that the motor that the freedom car is running is a actually a NHRA funny car enginge, what is scary is that Mr Jim Bealmer says his car will still run better now that scary. Man i cant wait 2 see them two run. Jeff u prolly dont know the spots do u, i would think that bealmer has 2 spot blown income a few feet, that sure will make things interesting.
