Inside Line Promotions - HUTCHISON, Kan. (April 30, 2019) - Zach Blurton hadn't raced a 360ci winged sprint car in more five years. However, it didn't look like it last Saturday at the Kansas State Fairgrounds as he scored a third-place run on the opening night with his new Lee Martin team.

"I'm extremely happy with how things went," Blurton said. "We had a brand new car and a brand new engine and it all came together and ran very well. It took me a few laps to get used to how fast this thing gets up to top speed compared to the 305."

A good pill draw put Blurton on the pole of his heat race, which he dominated for the win. He started outside of the front row of the feature and fell in line behind Wayne Johnson at the start.

"The track rubbered up early and I found it in the heat and won by half a straightaway," he said. "In the feature I quickly ducked down to the rubber and tucked in behind Wayne, but the caution came out. Don Droud Jr. wasn't going to let me do that again and he jumped right behind Wayne and I got down and settled into third and didn't make any mistakes and that's where we finished."

Blurton plans to run his 305ci sprint car with the Lucas Oil United Rebel Sprint Series this Saturday at Lincoln County Speedway in North Platte, Neb. He is a two time and defending URSS champion.

"Depending on how work goes this week we may take the 360 to I-80 Speedway (in Greenwood, Neb.) on Friday for the Bobby Parker Memorial," he added. "The 305 will utilize Tornado Racing Engines and the 360 will have Salina Racing Engines."
