Jefferson City, MO racing veteran Bob Test became the eighth different driver to race his way to a United Late Model Association (ULMA) sanctioned victory as a result of his win at Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, MO last Saturday night. Meanwhile, at Lucas Oil Speedway, J.D. Hubert of Cross Timbers, MO took his third ULMA win of the year; Hubert is the only repeat sanctioned winner so far this season. Three of four affiliated ULMA tracks were in competition last weekend, only Butler Motor Speedway did not race.

Things got underway last Friday at Callaway Raceway in Fulton, MO with 8 ULMA members competing among 15 late model drivers present. Member drivers dominated eight of the top ten finishing positions when the final checkered flag flew. Kevin Kaiser of Cole Camp, MO came away with the best finish by a member driver for the night in second place. California, MO ace Jeff Schlup drove to a third-place finish just in front of Jefferson City's Robbie Test in fourth and Robbie Wright fifth. Bob Test, Javan Payne, and Dave Miller also finished inside the top ten. James Stafford earned the RacingJunk.com contingency certificate by finishing thirteenth. Action continues this Friday night June 5th with another night of weekly competition at the raceway. If June 5th races are postponed by weather, the race program will take place on Sunday, June 7th. J.D. Hubert is on a rail at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO as he took his third sanctioned victory of the year last Saturday night, Hubert's three victories leads all other drivers on the ULMA winners' list this season. J.D. and his brother Evan dominated the two heat races contested among the 17 late model drivers present, 13 ULMA members competed. In the feature event, J.D. held back fellow ULMA competitors Bryon Allison, his Brother Evan, and Kevin Kaiser inside the top five. Jake Williams, John Fellers, Matt Menzie, and Toby Ott all scored top ten finishes by the end of the race with John Fellers earning the Rod End Supply contingency certificate for his finish. The track will host a special super late model event this week; therefore, no ULMA-sanctioned points will be awarded this Saturday night; regular weekly track competition and ULMA sanctioning for participating member drivers returns on Saturday, June 13th. Last Saturday at CMS, 12 member drivers competed in two heat races, in which 13 late models were competing. The first heat race featured Bob Test in a dominating win over Randy Ainsworth of Excelsior Springs, MO. For heat race number two, Danny Lorton of Moberly grabbed the lead from the beginning and never looked back; Robbie Test finished second at the line. Heat race winners Test and Lorton led the 13-car field to the stripe for the initial green flag and for several laps the pair ran side-by-side for the lead. A caution flag flew on lap six as the drivers regrouped for the restart, upon which Lorton's impressive run at the front ended as he clipped one of the infield tires, which caused damage to his left front wheel. Once the track was cleared and racing resumed, Test again paced the field. The fiercest action on the track was for second as Randy Ainsworth, Robbie Test, Steve Clancy of Odessa, MO and Kevin Coyne of Kingsville, all ran strong. As the race drew to a close, Ainsworth continued his best-ever run near the front of the field in second place. In the end, Bob Test drove to victory lane for his first-ever win at the speedway over Ainsworth in second; Test’s son, Robbie, finished third with David Barker of Kingsville, MO fourth, Clancy fifth and Coyne sixth. CMS holds another week of competition this Saturday, check out all the latest track news at www.centralmissourispeedway.net.
