bomber set up

can anbody lend a hand in trying to help create a set up. id like to know what springs to use and where and what tires to use and air pressure. as it stands my crews idea of a set up is 4 tires with air and srins that look springy. i have no idea what to change and where to change things. any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks dave

Here ya go Dave,lf 850 rf 1000-1100 lr 200 rr 250,i run 9'' of stagger in the front and 3'' on the back,tire pressures lf18 lr 16-18 rf 20 rr17,Hope this helps,Corey

Here are some ideas you may want to start with. I hope the stagger across the front was a mistype before (9"?????) . 1-2" of staggar should be plenty with approx. 2-3" across the rear. Depends on how tight or loose you like it. The more stagger the looser the smaller the stagger the tighter. I run a sportsman car so i would assume that spring rates should be fairly close to what i have. Yeah i know a bomber is a little heavier but here are my thoughts. LF 850lbs......RF 1050 LBS. ....LR 225 LBS.....RR 200lbs.....you may be able to go down about 25 lbs on each side in the rear but you would have to feel for yourself. Air pressures are kinda in the air for me since you run stock type tires. I am not sure on how far you can go down on air pressure comparing to a hoosier. You would probably have a good start if you go with these numbers......LF 9-10LBS....RF 16-17 lbs......LR 10-12lbs......RR 16-17lbs.....Allof this should give you a good starting point. Hopefully this all helps you a little bit.

smaldirt is close on spring rates except I would go 950-1000 LF,1100-1200 RF
As far as tire pressure way to low for stock tires,15-17 LF,17-18 LR,18-19RR & 23-26 RF.You may find you need to run tubes in some depending how hard you go into corner.
hope this helps,if I can be of anymore help just holler

Ok, please dont take this the wrong way. I am not trying to dog you or cut you down. This is just what I have seen. I watched you sat. @ TCS .
Your car is way too loose. When you where coming out of the corners you was sawing on that wheel so hard and fast. The car was so unsettled there is no way you could have been in control. Again I am only trying to help so
dont take it wrong. My suuggetion to you is to get rid of all that stagger. you dont need any wear near that much. No more than 2.5 - 3 inches in the front and even up to 1.5 inches in the rear.
Also check out my post earlier on here. It may help you with tires also.

That setup dont work very well at tcs lol
Your right. The setup I gave you is for Highland. Isnt that where you race on a normal basis ?
Here is a TCS setup.....
Front - 1-1.5 inches
Rear - Heads up even

Thanks Randy ill try it,I have been running Highland all year but I will be at greenville and tcs for the rest of the year
Hey not a problem. I will be @ Greenville during the series. You can find me @ the pit gate by the grandstands if I can help in any way.
Otherwise you know where to find me @ TCS.
I remember what its like your rookie year trying to learn all the in and outs of it all.
Randy :)
