Bond County Fairgrounds Greenville, IL

I have a meeting set up for Wednesday night with the Bond County Fairboard to work on a deal to rent the track for the 2004 season for 5 or 6 special event shows. I was interested to find out if any racers or spectators whether it be late model, sprint car, modified, micro, bomber, whatever are interested in running or watching races at Greenville. If there is no interest then I will not waste my time. The shows would most likely be mid week shows or possibly Sunday nights. I have tried to go through every track and sanctioning body schedule throughout the midwest to find suitable dates with the least or no competition. For those of you who dont know who I am I promote the midget and micro races at Belle-Clair with my partner Kenny Brown. If you have ever been to our shows you know we dont mess around and get things over quickly which will be done the same way no matter where I promote a show. Thanks for your time and feel free to email me at thompson10@accessus.net.

Thanks
Brian Thompson

I think that would be a waste of your time and money. Why would anyone show up at a track in a town that don't want racing there?? You would have to have big dollar shows and that I don't think would be smart. Greenville doesn't want anyone racing there. They try'ed that in 2002 and 01 no cars and no people. Just my opinion!!!

What would happen in the event of rainouts?
Would shows be called off too quickly and would everyone get their promised refunds?

On a sunday or middle of the week nights, with UMP rules and at least 1000 to win for LM. You would have plenty of cars (I would be there) but the number of fans is questionable...

Brian, car count may not be a problem but the fan count, which you need to pay the purse, has never been that good in my opinion.

It's a good track. A lot of guys like to race there because it's open for the most part but several people have tried to promote there and have ended up in the red.

Of course they told me the same thing about ending up in the red when I decided to open a bar/restaurant.....and I did it anyway!

Good luck with your decision.

TTG/MM...a.k.a. - "RED"

Count me in

If you have a sunday night or midweek sprint show that pays atleast $1200 to win 200 to start count me in. I'm pretty sure you would have atleast 25 to 30 if you paid that.

UMP LATE MODELS AND 410 SPRINTS!!!!COUNT ME IN!!!!A SHOW LIKE YOU WERE GOING TO DO AT BROWNSTOWN LAST YEAR WOULD BE NICE!!!!HOPE IT WORKS OUT!!!

Ya dont mess around. A little rain and the show is cancelled. Been there seen that.

but remember lincoln will be running modifieds for 500 to win.. along with street stocks and mini sprints.. they pay pretty good i think or atleast they are going to

Fairboard Meeting

I have only spoken to one gentlemen on the phone about this on one occassion. There is absolutely nothing set up as far as a schedule or anything. I was interested in finding out the situation and position of the fairboard as far as racing was concerened. People have been contacting fair board members about what the situation is and what classes they are going to run. They will not have any answers for you. Please understand this meeting will be a general information meeting for myself and the board. I appreciate all of your responses but like I said I just wanted to find out if there was interest in racing there to see if my trip to Greenville would be worthwhile.

Thank You
Brian Thompson

Fastest00, where have you seen the don't mess around and a little rain at? You have never been to one of his Sun. shows at Belleville when the show is done at 9:30. What other tracks do that around here?
