(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and Kinzer Motorsports made their 2019 debut on Saturday evening, April 13 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. Brandon, who sat out most of 2018 due to a lingering back injury, vied for the $10,000 top prize in the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series shootout at the Volunteer State venue.

BK stopped the clock tenth quickest in his group during qualifying prior to placing fifth in heat race action. After starting the 50-lap headliner from the inside of the tenth row, the Lexington, Kentucky driver was able to move up three spots - despite carburetor issues - to land in the sixteenth finishing position. Complete results from the season lid lifter can be accessed online at www.southernnationalsseries.com.

The #18 team is slated to take the upcoming April 19-20 weekend off from racing action, but Brandon will jump right back into competition the following Saturday, April 27. The team will trek north from the Commonwealth of Kentucky to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on April 27 for the track's 66th Season Opener. The American Late Model Series (ALMS) will roll into the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant to preside over a $5,000 to win program.
