Brian recently made the trip to West Virginia to pick up a Rocket Chassis
and plans to debut the new machine on April 1 at the Brownstown Speedway in
Brownstown, Indiana. The Birkhofer Racing team has been working feverishly
on the car since returning to their Muscatine, Iowa shop and hopes to have
it ready to compete for a run at the $10,000 top prize in the Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series event at Brownstown.
“I talked to Mark (Richards) down in Florida during Speedweeks and
approached him about getting a new car from him,” commented the 2002 ‘World
100’ winner this week. “I saw some potential in their cars down there in
Florida and it was something that I felt like I had to try. Mark, Steve
(Baker), and everyone at Rocket Chassis have been great to work with and I
would like to thank them for helping me get this car so quickly. We plan on
running both the Rocket and the MasterSbilt for now and potentially
switching to Rocket’s full-time later in the season.”
