Brown Recovers To Take Midway Modified Main As R.Doublin Grabs First Ever Feature Win In Pures

Lebanon,Mo.-Despite soaring heat temps racing action continued on Friday Night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway as the chase for the championship took a big turn following Friday nights exciting feature events.

The Energy Company Modifieds took the the Ozarks Action track with Mark Simon and Andrew Smith setting the pace on the front row.At the drop of the green,Simon swung a little high as Smith moved quickly to the high groove and Tyler Brown shot from his second row starting spot to make it a three wide battle while last weeks winner Micheal Stake was wasting no time going to the front.Brown grabbed the early lead while Stake stayed glued to his rear panel.As Brown who recieved no points last week was setting a quick pace,Stake was trying every line on the track to get around his car.Eric Tinderholt was a man on a mission as he moved quickly into the top 3 and began applying pressure to stake for the runner-up spot.THe early race battle between Brown and Stake was tight with Tinderholt waiting in the wings.This 3 car battle and the race for fourth place was tight as Andrew Smith,Colt Cheevers and Colson Kirk were battling.The race changed following a lap 6 caution for Brian Myers as the field regrouped for the restart.As the Green flew,Brown checked away from Stake as Tinderholt was applying pressure for the second place honors as the duo went wheel to wheel as Cheevers and Smith had a race for the fourth place spot.Caution waved again on lap 8 as Colson Kirk came to a halt out of turn 2 bunching the field again.Tyler Brown got a strong jump on Stake on the restart and pulled away leaving Tinderholt and Stake to race for the runner-up spot.Brown place himself back into the championship chase as he grabbed his Third feature of the season with Stake,Tinderholt,Cheevers and Andrew Smith completing the top 5.With point leader Wayne Graybeal absent from the racing action,Stake has assumed the top spot in the Modified standings and now leads Brown by only 12 points as Graybeal fell to third in the standings.

It is always good to see a driver get his first ever win as Lebanon's Robert Doublin has been on a roller coaster ride this season.Building a new car over the winner for the PureStock class,Doublin finally saw his hard work and efforts pay off Friday Night as he lead all 12 laps of an exciting feature event and halted the winning streak of point leader Kory Barker.

The Start of the PureStock feature saw Doublin get the start on defending champion Les Hayes on the front row as Robert moved quickly to the top groove as Brndon Knudtson,third row starter Rob White along with Elijah Keepper and Hayes followed on the opening lap.Doublin who has been fast all season has saw many things take him out early in features was glued to the top of the racetrack as White and Knudtson battled for second place.A quick pace by Doublin was keeping everyone in check.Early contender Keepper pulled the police machine into the pits ending his night as point leader Kory Barker had moved from 11th to fourth place on lap 6 as Doublin was pulling away.On lap 9 of the feature,White moved into the second place spot and began to close-up the gap on Doublin as Knudtson stayed close.Barker was trying to close the gap between himself and the top 3 as Robert McGinnis,Matt young,Hayes and lady driver Stacye Burns battled back in the pack.Heading into the closing laps and lapped traffic,White closed the lead down to 2 car lengths and was coming fast on doublin as Robert wasn't to be denied.On the final lap in the caution free event,White caught Doublin as they come out of turn 4 and made contact with the leader as Knudtson was looking for racing room.Doublin kept the car straight despite the contact and grabbed his first ever career victory beating White by 1 car length with Knudtson,Barker and McGinnis following.

The race of the nighr had to be in the StreetStock division as 14 strong took the opening green flag with Kevin Forshey grabbing the early lead on the top groove while the Water Brothers Billy and Brandon fought for second place.With Forshey looking for his first ever win and setting a fast pace Billy Waters moved into second place and begin to applying pressure to Forshey as Rodney Yost,Brandon Waters,Jack Hamer and point leader Joe Francis were coming fast.On lap 4, Forshey scrapped the bckstretchwall as Billy Waters moved into the top spot as Rodney Yost followed through with Jack Hamer,Brandon Waters,Forshey and Francis all battling.Waters and Yost ran side by side for 3 laps before yost took the lead by moving to the top of the track as Brandon Waters closed-up on big Brother Billy and Hamer was right there also.With Yost setting the pace,Billy Waters moved to the middle of the track and began to close-up the gap again as a fast moving Joe Francis tagged the wall in turn 4 and kept going.The caution waved on lap 11 bunching the leaders even closer as Yost got the jump on the start,but Billy Waters stayed close as Brandon went flying on the outside groove while Hamer and Francis went to battle.Going into lapped traffic on lap 13,the leader Yost had to get off the gas as a car got sideways in front of him as Billy Waters took the lead back in turn 2 to only see the caution wave for Keith Cheever who spun in turn 3.The put yost back in front and on the final restart he held off the challange again by Waters as they took the white flag.Yost moving on the top groove and middle line withstood Billy Waters charges as the final lap was being run.On the final lap,Brandon Waters started slowing off the quick pace as he lost several spots.Yost would take his third win of the season with Waters,Francis,Hamer and Monk Barker completing the top 5 in an action packed feature.

The Central Bank FactoryStocks took to the track with points runner-up Ben Solberg setting on the front row pole spot with defending champion Bob Gustin on his outside and row two saw point leader Tyson Troutman and Colt Cheevers making his debut in the Waterman trucking car.At the drop of the green Solberg in a nip and tuck point battle with Troutman grabbed the opening lead as Gustin stayed close on his quarter panel.The battle up front was tight as Gustin was trying several times to take the lead as Cheevers was holding into third with last weeks winner Tim Jones along with Troutman battling hard.Upont Solberg and Gustin kept this battle hard and fast as Gustin tried 4 different to take over the lead but Solberg was able to withstand the challanges while the battle back in the pack was tight between Jones and Troutman.Solberg was able to finally break away from Gustin after a small bobble in turn 2 and pulled away to record his 8th feature win of the season as Gustin,Cheevers,Troutman and Jones followed closely.With his heat race win and feature win Solberg known as "The Red Rocket" as taken over the point lead by 1 point over Troutman as the championship chase will go to the wire.

Sportsman feature action saw JC Newell grab the early lead as three wide action followed in turn 2 with point leader Ben Newell making a bold move on the bottom to take charge.For the next 3 laps,the father and son team went side by side with Ben Taking the lead on lap 4 as JC followed closely behind.A late race caution bunched the field up as Micheal Jones was able to get around JC Newell but couldn't catch the 3 time track champion as Ben gathered the win with Jones,JC Newell,Tim Ballinger and Clinton Betts following.

MidWest Modz action is slowing seeing new cars come into this class as 14 year old point leader JC Newell grabbed the early lead from Rich Reynolds and withstood a late race surge from Reynolds in capturing the feature event as Reynolds,Shane Bias and Ken Scott followed behind.

Up next at Midway will be fan interaction night as the track will host the final on track autograph session during intermission along with the Central Bank Racing Series Chase for the Championship in the Central Bank FactoryStocks,Energy Company modifieds,Coldwell Banker StreetStocks,PureStocks,Sportsman and MidWest Modz.Gates will open at 5PM with hotlaps at 7:10 and racing at 8PM sharp.
