Mark Burgtorf, Brandon Lennox, Jerry Jansen and Steven DeLonjay all scored feature event wins Sunday, June 18 at Quincy Raceways during Miller Lite/Mississippi Belle Distributing Father’s Night at the Races.

Tom Darbyshire looked to be the man to beat in the Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event as he took the lead on the third lap by coming from his fifth row starting spot in a flash. Darbyshire held down the top spot for the first seventeen circuits until a caution flag brought the field close together for a restart. Mark Burgtorf had worked his way into the second spot from his sixth row starting spot by the fifth lap and looked like he might just have to settle for second until that lap seventeen restart. Burgtorf dropped to the bottom of the track on the restart and powered by Darbyshire in turn three to take the lead. Burgtorf, who has now won four of the six points events and six of the nine total events went on to pull away to score the win. Darbyshire had to settle for second with Lonnie Bailey in third, Robbie Warner in fourth and Boone McLaughlin in fifth. Burgtorf, Kevin Tomlinson and Terry White were the heat race winners with Brian Kenning taking home the hardware in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

Brandon Lennox turned his 2006 racing season around in the Miller Lite IMCA Modified division by leading every lap of the twenty lap main event. Lennox was challenged throughout the event by several different drivers but held off multi time winner, Josh Foster for his first victory of the season. Foster settled for second with Henry DeLonjay in third, Wyatt Lance in fourth and Robbie Reed in fifth. Jim Roach, DeLonjay and Lennox were the heat race winners while Robbie took down the win in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash.

Jerry Jansen took home his first feature win of the season in the Bomber division after chasing Bruce Hatfield for the first twelve circuits of the twenty lap main event. Jansen pulled to a small lead over the last eight laps with Steve Carlin crawling into the second spot followed by Eddie Dieker in third, Dusty Bingaman in fourth and Adam Birck in fifth. Michael Lay, Carlin and Jarod Richie were the heat race winners.

Steven DeLonjay took home first place in the Hornet feature event after a race long battle with Darren Morgan. DeLonjay nosed ahead of Morgan on the white flag lap but contact between Morgan and DeLonjay sent Morgan spinning into the infield and to the back of the pack on the restart. DeLonjay held on for the win after the green flew for the restart followed by James Leffew in second, Levi Long in third, Jake Powers in fourth and Morgan getting back to the fifth spot. Sara Woodhurst took the win in the heat race.

Coming up next at Quincy Raceways will be the annual Pepsi Mid-Season Championship race night on Sunday, June 25. Mid-Season Championship Titles will be handed out the winners of the special draw/redraw format event. Gates open at 4 with Hotlaps at 6 and racing scheduled for 6:30pm. The following Sunday, July 2 will feature a special night at Quincy Raceways as the Budweiser IMCA Late Models will participate in a $3000 to win, $300 to start points event with the Miller Lite IMCA Modified having a $500 to win main event.
