(Paducah, KY.) May 13, 2006. Paducah International Raceway is gearing up for one of the busiest weeks of the season. After coming off a wild Friday night of racing and a frightening crash in the CARS Crate Late Model Division, the staff of PIR is busy getting the facility ready for Wednesday night racing and NASCAR Night II presented by C-Plant Federal Credit Union, Federal Materials and Aaron’s.

NASCAR Night II will feature Nextel Cup Champion Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards, driver of the Office Depot #99 who finished 3rd in the 2005 point standings, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace. Edwards will be driving a modified with Wallace doing double duty in a modified and Late model. Stewart is trying to pick up a win that he felt he left on the table when his JB Byrider machine broke in the feature of NASCAR Night I. Kenny Schrader will be racing his Red Baron Pizza UMP Late Model.

Divisions that will be competing on Nascar night II will be the UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Pure Street Stocks, the Outlaw Mini-sprints, and the 4 cylinder Warriors.

An autograph session is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon with all four drivers. Times for the session will be announced in the near future. The Will-Call ticket window will open at 1PM. The gates will open at 3 PM. Good tickets are still available by calling the track at 270-898-7469.

PIR will also return to its Racing Every Friday Night this week with a special UNDY 500 Qualifier. Drivers will compete in a fun filled, action packed, heads-up race that will be sure to entertain the crowd.

Also on the race night schedule is a full show including UMP Late Models, Modifieds, and Pure Street Stocks. Cars Crate Late Models will race on the high-banked 3/8th mile oval. The Outlaw Mini-Sprints and the Wild and Crazy 4-cylinder Warriors will keep the race fans on the edges of their seats on the 1/5th mile oval at PIR. Gates will open at 5pm for the Friday night show.

Paducah International Raceway is a high-banked 3/8th mile dirt oval that is deep in tradition being the home to the Wayne Coakley/ Bob Memmer USA World 50 and the TRI-TRACK Challenge. PIR is easy to find located off of I-24. Go south at exit 11 and follow the signs. For more information check out the website at www.paducahinternationalraceway.com.
