A busy holiday weekend for ULMA kicks off this Friday, May 22nd at Butler Motor Speedway (BMS) in Butler, Missouri. This Friday's ULMA late model race pays $750 to win the feature event. The race will start with up to 24 competitors and pays $100 start money. Beginning this year, ULMA added BMS as a weekly points-earning track for its member drivers. For the ULMA portion of racing at BMS this weekend, participating drivers must be ULMA members to compete in the ULMA late model event. Driver membership is available on site from ULMA officials. ULMA participants will pay a $40 entry fee. All cars must pass through pre-race technical inspection. After checking in, drivers need to ask directions to the ULMA pre-tech inspection area. Information provided to ULMA by BMS states that gates will open at 6 p.m. with a drivers' meeting at 7:30 p.m. Racing will begin at 8 p.m. in the following divisions, track late models, A-mods, B-mods, Factory Stocks, and ULMA Late Models. Normal grandstand admission prices are in effect at BMS for this weekend according to communications with track promoter C.J. Chevalier. For more information about BMS be sure to visit the track's official Web site at www.butlermotorspeedway.webs.com. For track information call (816) 618-3691, on race day call (816) 738-9433. The track is located just 45 minutes south of Kansas City off of Hwy 71 in Butler, Mo.

For the first time since last season, late models returned to Warrensburg's Central Missouri Speedway (CMS). Robbie Test sailed to victory in the opening heat race over Jeff Schlup. The second heat saw J.D. Hubert, who was competing at CMS for the first time ever grab the win ahead of David Barker and Kevin Coyne. Evan Hubert did not let his brother take the lone family win as he bested Dwight Niehoff and Randy Ainsworth in the third and final heat race. For the main event, Test brought the field to green-flag racing and led the initial laps. J.D. Hubert showed his muscle by racing side-by-side with Robbie Test in a classic battle for the lead early in the race, with J.D. Hubert ultimately taking the point. It wasn't only J.D. Hubert flying the family name though as Evan also battled for position within the top three. Later in the race, Evan Hubert passed his brother J.D. for the lead by lap ten and never looked back as he scored his first-ever feature race victory. Jeff Schlup finished a strong second in a classic battle with J.D. Hubert, who crossed the finish line in third. Other strong-running ULMA member at CMS included Kevin Coyne in fifth; Dwight Niehoff in his CMS debut in sixth, Kevin Kaiser seventh, Danny Monroe eighth, Jon Binning ninth and Ainsworth tenth. A total of 25 drivers were present, 20 were ULMA member drivers. Racing resumes at CMS this Saturday, May 23rd. For complete CMS information check out www.centralmissourispeedway.net.

Last weekend Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri the original Friday program was rained out; however, the races were run on Sunday the 17th. There were 15 late models on hand for the night with two heat races determining the line-up for the main event. Of the 15 drivers competing, 9 were ULMA members. Jeff Schlup of California, MO picked up a heat-race win over Kevin Kaiser and Danny Lorton and by virtue of his win, started on pole position for the feature event. Schlup led the opening four laps of the main event until being passed for the lead on lap five. Great battles among ULMA drivers ensued all throughout the field as Kevin Kaiser methodically made his way towards the front of the field. Danny Lorton, point leader Robbie Test, and Javan Payne rand extremely close for several laps. Kaiser came home with a second place finish, the best of ULMA members present. Other top ten runs were posted by Schlup in third, Payne fourth, Lorton fifth, Bob Test sixth, and Robbie Wright eighth. ULMA awards points to its member drivers competing at the track on Friday nights. Visit www.callawayraceways.com for track information. If the races are rained out on Friday the 22nd, there will be no rain out date on Sunday the 24th.

After a week off, Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO resumes weekly racing this Saturday, May 23rd; for more information about the track visit www.lucasoilspeedway.com. ULMA awards points to its member drivers competing at the track on Saturday nights.
