C.A.R.S. WRS & Mt.Vernon Raceway Gear Up For A Second Season

By Sean Franklin

(DuQuoin, IL) The C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series is proud to announce that the Crate Late Model Division at Mt.Vernon Raceway will once again be sanctioned by the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series for the 2007 season.

Mt.Vernon Raceway was the first track to sign with the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series in 2006 and the support for the class at Mt.Vernon Raceway has been excellent from day one. "Mt.Vernon Raceway management brought the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series in as an additional class last season because they seen there was a need for a budget late model class in our area", said newly named Mt.Vernon Raceway promoter, Brandon Trotter. "We think this class will continue to grow to be one of the biggest classes in dirt track racing. I have talked with several racers about the C.A.R.S. Late Model division and with the number of cars being built for this class we are expecting good car counts with great racing action each and every night this year".

Mt.Vernon Raceway will host a number of "special events" for the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series in addition to the already scheduled weekly racing events. The dates for these events will be announced in early January.

Drivers competing in the Crate Late Model division at Mt.Vernon Raceway will not only compete for track points, but they will also be competing for points towards the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series Championship. The C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series Champion will again receive $10,000 cash as well as other contingency prizes for the 2007 season.
