Car count!!!!!!!!!!

:)We have been having some great car counts, and I think next year we will see even more new cars that will run with us on a regular basis. I was just wondering everyones thoughts on more cars running with us. I love it, I think it will help us out.:)

At this point, I think it is awesome... My fear is that we get too big for some races/tracks. Right now, it is awesome to have so many cars that we can split into two features(at the same cost to our promoting tracks;)) It makes it a little easier to run a main competitively without worrying about crossing paths with a much faster/slower car. The A/B class scenario has worked out great so far on track, and for the most part...everyone has been in the class that best suits them. Seems like our "Good" show, just got a lot better.

In the future, too many cars may be the problem at some venues. Right now we're all getting paid fairly and the promoters getting a great show for his $$$. But too many cars is gonna mean some won't get paid... However, I think it'll work out to be fine in the long run. Northern shows lack us southern folks sometimes, and vice versa. More cars may just secure that we'll have a full field at every single show...;)

I was a little worried about the money with more cars and that but I think we would use the top people in points if it came to that, dont qoute me on it but I'm pretty sure and that might be something we all need to agree on or talk about, most of the time we have a pretty good idea how many cars will be at a show, but the more people the harder thats going to be also, and I would hate to see someone travel a far way and not get to run with us because of points, but on the other hand the more points you have the more support you have given the group, again might be something we should discuss or atleast the higher ups (lol)

The Future????

Go to most tracks today and the top classes of cars will be late models and modifieds. These cars are faster than a greased cheeta strapped to the front of a bullet train ( thanks Carl ) and they corner like slot cars.
But take the #s off and paint them the same color and after a while they become boring. They all look the same. Not so with the vintage cars. We don't have the speed or cornering ability but our cars have character.
I don't know how the younger fans feel about our cars but the older fans love them. Our cars bring back memories of a time that was less complex and seemingly better.
Two years ago at the lake hill reunion, Dave jr. and I discovered the Gateway Vintage Club and we knew it was going to get bigger and bigger. I love the cars, I love the rules ( no contact ) and what a truly great group of people.
I would urge Marc and Brian to consider having an election for a "Board of Directors" in addition to them selfs as President and vice-president. In the next 6 to 36 months some decisions might have to be made that are really tough and group decisions always seem to be better.
But let me be clear on this point. No matter what Marc and Brian may or may not decide to do, they will have my support. I feel like this, they birthed this baby and its well and growing. I will follow them.

WHAT IF?????
What if some track owner sees the future as I do and offers to run a weekly show for the Vintage cars. I think this will happen within the next 2 to 3 years. Do we are don't we???

The 17 car of Jim Hunter!!! What a beauty
