Car Show judging

inTENSE

***********
I have seen that there have been quite a few people complaining about the way that car shows have been judged in the past.

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to judge them so the judging is fair, or is there no 'FAIR' way to judge stock car shows?

I would like some feedback on this subject.
Thanks,
Dustin

I think some people get too wrapped up in the judging and trophies, I always liked the car shows for the social aspect. Seeing people you haven't seen in a while and looking at their new stuff.

I think more emphasis should be placed on that rather than judging and trophys, etc.

Yeah, Few years ago at the local festival around here they have a car show, I took the midget, modified & the kids 1/4 midget, had a blast seeing all my local freinds, There was this guy I know that had a very nice old humpback Ford custom entered, At the end of the day at the trophy presentation they gave my kid and his 1/4 midget first place and gave the guy with the Ford second, Ya shoulda seen this guy, made a total Arse of himself rantin & ravin & throwin the second place trophy in the trash,Jeeeeeez Louise...........

I just think it's a no win situation. If you have the people vote then it's a popularity contest on who brought the most people. We thought at the Mascoutah show that if we had 3 judges that didn't know anybody or anything about racing that would be fair. We feel it was fair but there was still people compaining. So good luck on your car show! Like I said before, there's alway going to be a whiner.

do like godfrey did .give the prizes for games and tell the guys that worked hard on there cars .good job

After further thought, I think it might be like telling someone they have an ugly kid if they don't win something. It might be good to split the award up by class or have a "Ladies Choice" or some other awards that could be handed out.

A everyone wins something situation. :)

I think they are more like Beauty Pagents... It's all in the eyes of the be-hold her  LOL!!!!!

I agree for some it's about getting out and seeing all the pretty cars and visiting with people we have not seen all winter. All the cars look GREAT of course. But someone has to win and someone has to lose. And unfortunatley not everyone is gonna agree or be happy. I have to say hat's off to all that take their cars out and show off how pretty they are before they start racing and rubbing.... Good Luck to all and have a safe racing season ;)

Don't forget a big thank you to the people who took the time to organize it and the people who helped purchase the trophies & plaques.
