Casey Roberts Appeal Results
On May 22, 2015, the World Racing Group Appeal Commission Appeals Board heard and deliberated the appeal of World of Outlaws Late Model Series participant Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., in regard to penalties received following an incident at the World of Outlaws Late Model Series event on May 1 at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, N.C.
The Appeals Board elected to reduce the length of Roberts' suspension from WoO LMS and DIRTcar-sanctioned events from six months to one month. Roberts' suspension will now conclude on June 22, 2015.
All other aspects of the penalty were upheld. Those penalties are the loss of $730 in purse money from the event, a fine of $1,500, the loss of 1,000 championship points for the 2015 season and placement on probation following the conclusion of the suspension for the remainder of the 2015 racing season.
