(Warrensburg) CMS Promoters Mike Pierce and Dan Chevalier made an announcement on Central Missouri Speedway and Bates County Raceway plans for the 2005 and 2006 race seasons today. The Chevalier family has purchased the Bates County Speedway near Butler, Missouri and will pursue starting race operations later this season with plans for a full season of racing in 2006. The Pierce family wishes them the very best and good luck with their new family venture.

For the balance of the 2005 CMS race season both Mike Pierce and Dan Chevalier will continue as promoters at Central Missouri Speedway. The Pierce family will also continue to work with track owner Earl Walls to come up with an agreement for the 2006 race season and beyond. Mike Pierce later said, “We’re pursuing options with Earl Walls that will enable CMS racing for many years into the future”

As always we appreciate the CMS racing family of fans and drivers that provide the outstanding support we received this year and the continued great tradition of hot racing action every Saturday night at Central Missouri Speedway. Upcoming events include our Second Big Mighty Modified Special of the year on Sunday, July 3 with the Modifieds Special and 2 Limited Late Model features. More details to follow soon on purses and other planned special events.
