Mother Nature had different plans for early April so CMS track owners Earl and Susan Walls decided to call off the first practice session of the 2007 racing season. Be sure to join us next Saturday, April 14th starting at 11 a.m. for the first-ever CMS Car Show! Drivers will display their 2007 cars and everyone will have a chance to vote for their favorite appearing car in the Mighty Modified, ULMA Late Model, Street Stock and B- Modified divisions with prizes going to each division winner. Fans will also have a chance at winning CMS admission tickets. Those drivers wishing to participate in the car show need to have their cars in place on the front-side parking lot right off of 13 Highway by 10:45 a.m. There is no fee for drivers or fans for the car show, it’s absolutely free! After the car show be sure to stick around for the practice session, which will begin at 1 p.m. Pitside grandstand entrance for the fans is free, pit entrance passes will be $15 each, and concessions will be available.
We hope everyone’s been able to tune in to the new CMS Live Webcast Show! The show airs weekly on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. on www.racinboys.com. Track owner Earl Walls hosts a round-table discussion with chief scorer Karen Darling and track announcer Sam Stoecklin as well as special guests to discuss upcoming events and goings on at the track. Next week’s guest will be the 2006 Street Stock Champion, Jimmy Ngo. Audio is live at 7 p.m. from the show and video is posted not long after the show finishes airing a little later in the evening. Fans can call in and talk live on the air by dialing (888) 883-6363 or 833-8553. Questions and comments can also be sent to the Instant E-mails Link from the Forum board during the half-hour air time. Drivers, we encourage you to send us your sponsor information so we can talk about them on the air! Send your sponsor lists to Sam Stoecklin at samonthemic@hotmail.com. Talking about your sponsors and giving them exposure benefits you as a driver and your sponsor(s) as a business and keeps the fans informed about the businesses that support dirt-track racing. Off-season preparation continues full-steam ahead at the track. The Walls have made some drastic improvements to the premises. New water lines are nearing completion and drivers and fans on the pitside can look forward to new bathroom facilities. A new pit registration and admission area building has also been built and will be ready for drivers and fans on opening night. New dirt has been added to the speedway and more loads are expected prior to opening night. Track grooming is underway with a newly hired track prep man.
