TAZEWELL, TN – Heavy overnight rain, and a high chance of rain for this afternoon, has forced postponement of the $4,400-to-win $400-to-start 6[sup]th[/sup] Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial 44 Presented By West Chevrolet for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series at Tazewell Speedway until Saturday night, September 6.
With the speedway grounds already in a saturated state and the high percentage of more rain this afternoon and tonight, Chevy Super Series and Tazewell Speedway official agreed that postponing the this prestigious event one week would be in everyone’s best interest. Several Chevy Super Series race teams have an eight hour or more trip to get to the track.
The gate times and event schedule from tonight’s postponed race will carry over to the September 6 running of the Buddy Rogers Memorial Presented By West Chevrolet for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series.
Next Saturday night, the pit gate opens at 4 p.m. and the grandstand gate opens at 5 p.m. Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Chevy Fan Zone will be open in the Grandstand area from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is set for 7 p.m. with racing scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
