Kansas City, KS (1/1/03)-Team Chick Motorsports, Kansas City's only
Big "3" NASCAR team, was faced with destruction of their property and
loss of a substantial amount of racing equipment. The team was in the
process of completing a relocation to a new facility in Olathe, KS
and the former shop in Kansas City, KS was broken into. The doors
were well secured and the burglars attempted to pry the steel-clad
entry door open, when that failed they attempted to lift an air
conditioning unit from the sidewall of the shop to enter. When they
failed to gain entry trying several different routes, the burglars
ripped through the siding, tore away the exterior sheeting on the
shop, and broke through the sheetrock to enter the facility.

Team owner Steve Chick, Jr. was extremely disappointed, "We are a
small team with extremely limited funds and this kind of thing is
terribly discouraging. We lost all of our radio equipment, numerous
tools, electronics, the computer that was to be installed in our pit
cart, they even unbolted the air compressor from the concrete slab
and took it! This hit us at a time when we are stretched extremely
thin, the Daytona test is next week and there was just no room for
this kind of occurrence. On the up side, we are a tight knit group
that is determined to be successful in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series. My guys have a lot of heart and determination, they will be
inspired to overcome the challenges we are faced with and come out of
this even stronger. Although this kills any hope of being able to
make the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series test in Daytona next week, we
will continue to prepare our 2003 Ford Trucks in the new shop and
this year is going to be a breakthrough year for Team Chick
Motorsports and our driver, Aaron Daniel."

Team Chick Motorsports has not signed a primary sponsor for 2003, but
a newly defined realtionship with MAI Sports, located in Overland
Park, Kansas, has everyone on the team energized for the 2003 season,
and beyond. Visit www.teamchickmotorsports.com to keep up with news
and information on Team Chick Motorsports and driver, Aaron Daniel.
