Sarver, PA (August 31, 2007) Chub Frank has been nothing short of dominant his past few visits to Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway and he proved it again as he decimated the star studded 43 car field by leading the entire distance in the ‘Cleveland Brothers MACS 35’.

Frank and 2007 MACS Rookie of the Year contender Dan Stone brought the stout 25-car field to the green with Chub powering into the lead while third place starting Dave Hess, Jr. blew into second. Stone, who was quickly shuffled to third had his hands full with fast qualifier Steve Shaver as the two battled side-by side for position. As the war raged on for third, another campaign between Darrell Lanigan and Josh Richards ensued with a tremendous side-by-side battle for fifth.

The skirmishes for position were happening the entire way around the ultra-smooth Sarver Oval. The action behind the leader, Frank, was heating up to a fever pitch as Chub entered lapped traffic on lap 10. Shaver, know for his machismo, made a daring move in turn three to blast past Hess Jr. for third just as Stone, who had a fine fourth place run going spun coming out of turn two. Dan mashed the throttle hard doing a 360 degree spin as he fought to straighten his Lazer Chassis before flagman Donnie Gallagher could throw the caution. The incident saw Stone recovering in 13th.

MACS point leader Robbie Blair brought out the only caution of the event as his freshly lettered Rocket Chassis came to an abrupt halt in turn four with a broken rear-end. On the ensuing ‘Delaware’ restart, Frank again took command with both Hess and Richards getting by Shaver for second. Dave and Josh fought it out through turns one and two with Richards edging ahead going down the back chute wrestling the position away from Hess. Richards slowly pulled away from Hess as Dave now had to deal with Lanigan as he pressured the youngster for third. As Darrell slung his away around the #44 of Hess, Reigning MACS Champion, Jason Covert popped into the top five from his 20th start after he muscled his way past Shaver.

Blair’s earlier misfortune opened the door for some changes in the season long point standings and Covert, who sat second in his quest to defend his MACS title, took every advantage of the opportunity presented. Jason finessed his way past Hess for fourth on lap 28 as Frank again entered lapped traffic. Richards inched ever closer to the fleet leader as the laps clicked down. At the checkers, Chub scored a convincing victory over Richards, Lanigan, Covert, and Shaver who nipped Hess for fifth. Davey Johnson led the next quartet of drivers in seventh followed by Jared Miley, from 13th, 2007 Lernerville Speedway track champion, Alex Ferree and Gregg Satterlee in his sophomore year in a super late model rounded out the top ten.
