Chub and the silver 1* anniversary car and 4 - Time Renegade Championship team made the 14 hour trip to Woodstock, GA. for the 14th Annual Xtreme Hardee's Shootout presented by Coca-Cola at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA. Thursday night and arrived early Friday morning. Over 90 different drivers were on hand to try to qualify for this years Shootout which always brings the best of the best late model drivers from all over the country.
Chub qualified the 1* Corry Rubber, Slavic Custom T - Shirts, Nystrom's Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Allstar Performance, Monte Carlo in 6th out of 97 cars that took time trials. That put Chub starting on the pole of the 6th heat race where he would finish 3rd in the heat race transferring him into the 14th Annual Xtreme Hardee's Shootout starting 18th . On the start Chub jumped to the outside and picked up a spot or two but when the first of eight caution flags came out for debris on lap 17 Chub had moved into the top 15 and was still on the move. The next caution flag flew on lap 38 and Chub was now in the top 10, the next yellow flew on lap 41 and at the half way point he was now running 7th . Billy Moyer stopped in turn four on lap 54 to bring out the fifth caution flag. Chub was now running 6th with Shannon Babb running 7th. Earl Pearson Jr. stopped his Rocket Taurus in turn two on lap 57 for the 6th caution flag and now running 5th Chub was still on the move to the front. Steve Francis spun to the high side of the track and stopped to bring out the 7th caution flag on lap 67. Then Wendall Wallace slowed on lap 81 bringing out the 8th caution flag and on the restart Chub broke into the top three with Dan Schlieper leading and Don Oneil in second and Chub in 3rd where he would finish the 14th Annual Xtreme Hardee's Shootout.
