Bear Lake, PA --- Chub ‘Chubzilla’ Frank and the 1* Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis team ventured westward with a trip to the prestigious Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA for the 3rd Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals on September 28, 29 & 30.
During preliminary action on Thursday evening Chubzilla qualified 21st fastest out of the 61 car field before finishing sixth in his heat race followed by a fifth in the B Main.
On Friday evening during the second night of preliminary racing leading up to Saturday’s 3rd Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals Chubzilla timed in 33rd quick and immediately went out and won his heat race before finishing 16th in the prelim main event relegating him to the Saturday night B Main where he finished third.
When the ‘big show’ started Chubzilla then went on a mission to the front as he started 27th, pitted on lap 59 and went on to climb up to 11th place at the checkers of the 3rd Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals.
Up next for Chubzilla is the return to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series action and a race in his home state on Sunday October 8 with the completion of the postponed Pittsburgher 100 at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa.
