Rich Vleck, ELBRIDGE, NY (May 6, 2007) - Chuck Hebing has picked up right where he left off in 2006, winning the first two races of the ASCS Patriot season for the second year in a row.

Hebing won his third straight race at Rolling Wheels Raceway on Sunday Afternoon, searching the entire event to find the fast lane around the speedway and finally discovering it in the A-Main to once again park it in Victory Lane.

It was the 18th ASCS Patriot Win for Hebing, his 9th in the last 18 races. For his efforts, he once again pocketed a cool $1,500 with the added money from Shuttleworth Asphalt Sealing, Red Bear Hand Cleaner and Mike Emhof Motorsports.

“We tried some different stuff to try to go on the bottom but I just couldn’t go forward,” noted Hebing about the early stages of the 20-lap A-Main. “Then I just decided I didn’t care if I went backwards, I was going to try the high side.”

“Cobra” started 7th for the second A-Verdi Storage Containers King of CNY event of the year, he moved up to sixth after a lap 3 restart but seemed to be quite stagnant in his No. 45 Maxim Chassis. On the second and final restart on lap 7, though, the Ontario, NY driver went upstairs to find the new fast lane, moving into 2nd around Bryan Howland on lap 9 and taking the lead on lap 14 from Jason Barney with a sweetheart move riding the rim off of turn four.

“That thing just hooked up on the top and Jason gave me room,” said the 2006 Champion after completing his wing dance in Victory Lane. “I feel bad for Jason though, he was fast on the bottom all night and figured he was best down there.”

Barney dominated National Parts Peddler Heat 3, won the Casey’s Truck Parts Dash, and was well out in front for the first 14 laps of the A-main, settling for 2nd. The Constantia, NY competitor was still happy with his career-high ASCS Patriot finish after the race, realizing that “Cobra” is his new target to reach for.

“Any time we lose to that guy (Hebing) you can’t complain,” said Barney. “We have a great car and we are just going to keep trying to beat him.”

Bryan Howland won National Parts Peddler Heat 1 and was strong once again at Rolling Wheels, claiming his fourth-straight top-6 at his home track.

Justin Barger and Rick Wilson had a great battle in Heat 2, with Wilson coming out on top; in the feature, Barger crossed the stripe ahead of the No. 42w for a 4th place finish.

Jared Zimbardi was stout for the second-straight night, finishing 6th, ahead of his former Alfred State Classmate Geoff Quackenbush, who continues to lead the Gater Racing News Hard Charger of the Season Award presented by Red Bear Hand Cleaner.

Jeff Cook, Bobby Breen, and Jeff VanDusen completed the top-10, with VanDusen rallying from an early race spin to show his prowess in his potent No. 56D.

Twenty-three cars were in attendance for the second-straight night, with Jessica Zemken running strong in her heat but being unable to complete a lap in the A-Main. Only four cautions waved the entire night, all for single car incidents in turn 3.

While the next race is right around the corner, next Saturday at McKean County Raceway, the next A-Verdi King of CNY event will not take place until nearly July. When that event at Canandaigua does take place, Hebing will be the point leader.
