Chillicothe, OH --- Race fans in the southern Ohio and northern Kentucky regions will have a chance to not only meet dirt Late Model star Steve Francis and see his dirt Late Model race car up close and in person but some lucky fans will win free tickets to the upcoming 25th Anniversary Dirt Track World Championship presented by Arizona Sport Shirts courtesy of Coca Cola that will be held October 13-15 at KC Raceway south of Chillicothe, OH where the winner of the prestigious race will earn $50,000.
Superstar dirt Late Model racer Steve Francis, a former Dirt Track World Championship winner, will be making three personal appearances on behalf of Coca-Cola and the Dirt Track World Championship to meet and greet race fans. Francis, of Ashland, KY, will be on hand with his #15 Mopar dirt Late Model at three area Kroger grocery stores. In addition to meeting Francis and getting autographs, each store has a display of Francis and his car with entry forms for two free tickets to the upcoming race. Fans attending will also have a chance at free samples and giveaways during each appearance. Two Dirt Track World Championship tickets, good for all three days, will be awarded at each Kroger store where Francis will appear.
On Tuesday October 4 Francis, known as the ‘Kentucky Colonel’, will appear from 4:00- 6:00 PM at the Kroger store located at 997 North Bridge Street in Chillicothe. Also on hand will be a live radio remote with 100.1 out of Waverly, OH. For more store information telephone: 740-773-2901.
On Wednesday October 5 Francis will appear at the Kroger store at 811 Gay Street in Portsmouth, OH from 4:00- 6:00 PM. A live radio remote will air over 99.3 MIX out in Portsmouth. For more store information telephone: 740-355-1414.
On Wednesday October 12 the Kentucky Colonel will appear at the Kroger store at 530 E. Main Street in Jackson, OH from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Along with Francis and his car a live radio remote will air via WKOV 96.7 in Jackson.
At each location there will be entry blanks and boxes for fans to register to win free passes to the Dirt Track World Championship. Each store will award two free tickets.
The 25th Annual Dirt Track World Championship presented by Arizona Sport Shirts kicks off on Thursday evening October 13 with an open practice session. Qualifying and heat races will be held on Friday evening October 14 with the consolation race, a non-qualifiers race and the 100-lap Dirt Track World Championship presented by Arizona Sport Shirts to be held on Saturday evening October 15. Sunday October 16 will serve as the rain date.
Advance sale tickets, especially reserved seating, is going swiftly and race fans are encouraged to order early. Presale prices for individual tickets are $40 for adult general admission, $10 for children general admission ages 6-11 with children under age six admitted free for general admission. The deadline for ordering presale tickets is October 1, 2005. All tickets pre-ordered will begin being mailed out on September 15, 2005. A presale three-day pit pass will be offered for $50.
After the October 1 presale deadline expires tickets prices will be $50 for adult general admission, $15 children general admission ages 6-11 with children under age six admitted free for general admission. Three-day pit passes will be $60.
Special reserved seating is also being made available for the 25th Anniversary Dirt Track World Championship presented by Arizona Sport Shirts. The top five rows of the grandstands, including the main grandstands and the soon-to-be-constructed new grandstands in turn four, will be mandated reserved seating. Presale tickets for reserved seating are $45 per ticket. After October 1 reserved seating will be $55. Reserved seating ticket prices for children age 11 and under will be $15 per ticket presale and $20 per ticket after October 1. A seating chart is available on the KC Raceway website (www.kc-raceway.com) and race fans may pick their preferred seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
