Basic Rules

1) 2400 pounds
2) Goodyear 27 and 27.5 modified tires in 40 through 60 compounds
3) 602 GM crate engine
4) 4 barrel holly carb (750 max) on gas
5) body and chassis rules almost identical to 2005 UMP rules.

It is time to get everyone interested in the crate mods to get on the same page and help us get things rolling for 2006.

We have over 15 crate mods to start the season at Brownstown in 2006. The numbers interested are much higher but the real numbers will start to come forward at the Brownstown Rules meeting on Dec 18. More info will come about the meeting in the next few days.
 
Sign ups start Dec 18

To sign up for the new crate mod class we will open the sign up period for drivers starting at the Brownstown, Il rules meeting on Dec 18. More info will follow in the next few days. We think we are approaching 20 sloid racers interested in the class and a possible 20 others that could go either way for 2006. It looks like good car counts will start the 2006 season inthis new class and we expect the payouts to start to get bumped up fairly early in the year.

The meeting went very well. I have been getting ready for all the X-mas stuff so I have not had time to reply. Things are a go and we are in full swing now with the crate mods for 2006. We are talking to some other tracks about running the crate mods in 2006 and we hope many others will join us at Brownstown, IL and other tracks to get this class going very well.

Goodyear

We have been talking to Goodyear Tire Company about getting on board with their modified tires to compete against the American Racer tires. I will announce more info on these talks in the next week to 10 days.

Also we are trying to get a sponsor for Rookie of the yeare awards as well as other awards. Anyone interested in being a sponsor of this class feel free to give me a call.

$20,000 cash points fund

The points fund for the crate mods is now at $20,000 cash and still growing. More details will be announced very soon. Goodyear has stepped up in a big way.
 
Tires will be in

The new tires will be I hope within a week. Anyone wanting to get their tires ordered now, may want to give me a call so I can make sure I have exactly what you are needing.

As stated on a seperate thread here, the Goodyear Modified tires are in and ready to be picked up. You may wish to call ahead and make sure we have the staggers you are wanting due to how fast they are moving out of here.
 
Another crate mod weekly track

I am very close to anouncing the second weekly Fastrak Modified sanctioned track in Illinois and I will keep everyone posted. Browstown, Il will be running weekly with the Fastrak Mods on Friday nights and as I said I will announce the second weekly track as soon as everything is finalized. And no, it does not run on Friday nights.

For a racer who is going to compete at Brownstown or Charleston, who will sell the tires at the track on race night and how much will they be? I am hearing the tires will be $110 plus tax at the track.... if so, wondering where the economy is in that when UMP tires are less and could be used at any of the tracks in the area?
 
Here is the deal

Greenville Service has the contract to sale at the track, what they sale them for is not up to me. I know they have plenty of room to sale them at Brownstown for $95 plus tax but as I said I can not control that. If he is saling his Hoosiers cheaper than the Goodyears then he is doing so by his choice and not trying to sale the Goodyear tires.

At Charelston: they will be sold by Brad or myself for $95 plus tax as they are any other day.

Tires are moving out the door quickly, call with your stagger requirements while the selection is stiil good. price on the tires are $95 plus $6.18 tax for a total of $101.18. Don at Greenville Service Co. is supposed to have tires by now, but i will have tires at the track Sunday to help get your stagger exactly where you need it to be. Tires will need to be purchased from him first, then i will fill in for the rest that he doesn't have.
 
Fastrak Modifieds At Brownstown/charleston

Friday the 7th of April is the first race of 2006 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown. Membership fees will need to be paid at that time to be eligible for the points fund, membership fee is $75.00 for the season. Charleston Speedway in Charleston, Il the 8th of April will be the second race of the season, and those that did not pay their membership Friday will need to pay it Saturday to be eligible also. Membership can be paid as a member joins during the season, but points will begin to be accumulated from the date of membership.
