cross vs. bite when scaling car

In a street stock what is more important to try to achieve cross weight or rear bite or both? What is a good starting point to try to reach? Metric car 3200 lbs weight rule.

Depends on the track, driver skills, etc..., however i would say ball park on cross would be 48-52% and 40-80 lbs of left rear bite for a neutral "balanced" set up.

well i would think rear percentage is much more a factor. 56-60 percent is great and since cross weight is more of a tuning option i would go with bite. Most times we ran negitive stagger to tighten up the car, although now a days they run emods. I remember having 56-60 rear, 100lbs if bite with P225 LR and P235 RR. Cross was 52 percent +- .5 percent. So swapping the rear tires during the feature gave us like 150 lbs of bite and 55 cross. I won alot of races in the old Diveley built car!!!!

If you want to try a set-up that has been really fast on tight turn tracks go with a high cross set-up with mid 50 rear % with around 200# lr. This set-up will get you through the corner but, you will need to run a soft rf and rr like around 850-950 rf and 1200 lf with a 125-150rr and a 250lr. Corner speed increases forward bite period!
