(CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA) Dale McDowell Racing hits the World of Outlaw Late
Model Series circuit again this weekend for the last time in the month of
May. The Petroff Towing / J&J Steel / New Vision Graphics #17m Larry Shaw /
Racetek Grand Prix will hit the track on Friday night at the Eagle Raceway
in Lincoln, NE and the Farley Speedway in Farley, IA on Saturday. Both
events will be sanctioned by the WoO Late Model Series and will pay $10,000
to the winner. Dale is currently second in the WoO point standings heading
into this weekend's events, only three points behind point leader Scott
Bloomquist. You can get the latest on these two events by visiting

Dale is coming off a week where he competed in the $100,000 to win 'Alltel
100' at the Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, AR. He drove a #17m Larry
Shaw modified for the week, but he failed to make the starting field for the
'Alltel 100.' Dale timed in 77th out of 294 entries and nearly made the
starting field several times in the qualifying races, which where held all
week long. Although Dale did not make the show, he left with some positive
feelings about the event.

"It was exciting to drive one of those every night last week," said Dale
from his shop on Monday. "It was unfortunate that we didn't make the show,
but we learned a lot for next year. We had too small of motor to start out
the week and then we just didn't have any luck. We didn't draw well; you
have to either draw at the front or the back because of the passing points
system. I guess we will just have to get them next year down there."
