Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway announced the hiring of Patrick Daly as
Drag Strip Manager and Lisa Kampeter as Advertising and Promotions Manager.
Daly will be responsible for the event management and marketing at Gateway's
Championship Drag Racing Facility. He joins Gateway after spending this past year as
the General Manager of the Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League. Prior to
that, Daly worked in baseball for the past 17 years and spent the last five as the General
Manager of the River City Rascals of the Frontier League. For his efforts he earned
back-to-back Frontier League Executive of the Year honors in 1999 and 2000.
Kampeter will oversee all advertising and promotion efforts at Gateway. Prior to joining
Gateway, she spent the last five years as an account executive at IMAP Advertising in
Chesterfield, MO, coordinating advertising efforts for several local and out-of-town
accounts. From 1994-97, Kampeter worked as an Affiliate Promotions Manager
overseeing national promotions for FOX Sports, the FOX Network and the FOX
Children's Network.
"Today we have become a much stronger marketing organization with these new
additions," stated Vice President and General Manager Matt Strelo. "For the past two
years we have worked very hard to become a fan-friendly, customer service focused
racing facility. Now we will become better promoters."
The 2004 race season gets underway on May 8 with the NASCAR Busch Series. Season
