Macon, IL – Macon Speedway will be hosting their annual Fathers Day Special with Dear Ol’ Dad and Faster Pastor Races with Micro Mini Sprints and ending the night with FIREWORKS!! Fathers will receive special raffle gifts at intermission.

Faster Pastors Race will be the local area Pastors driving Four Cylinder Hornets around the Macon Speedway. The congregation members that mention their church will receive half price admission, as we are expecting about 10 local area churches to participate in the event.

The Micro Mini Sprints will be racing for the first time this year, as they will be racing for $300 to Win this will also give them a chance to prepare for the Mini Sprint Nationals on June 18th and 19th.

High School Hornets will return to Macon Speedway for their second appearance of the season. The High School with the most participates will receive the Phil Sargent Scholarship for $1,000.


Macon Speedway’s “Best Fan in the Stands” sponsored by All Service Racing Parts and Sheet Metal, located on Damon Ave. across from Firestone. “All Service Racing Parts is your only All Star Performance dealer in Decatur”. A lucky fan will win $200 this week if their name is draw from the box after the Modified feature event. If the Best Fan in the Stands is not present the prize money will roll over into next week’s prize. Macon Speedway will also be drawing an extra 50/50 ticket to give one lucky fan a ride in the Macon Speedway 2 seater Late Model driven by one of Macon Speedway’s local drivers.

Saturday night’s schedule will feature seven UMP divisions, including the Modifieds, Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Street Stock, Pro Hornets, Amateur Hornets, High School Hornets, and Micro Mini Sprints.

Be sure to mark your calendar with the upcoming events. June 12th will be Muller Distributing Miller Lite Beer Twin 50’s for the Late Models and Modifieds. The Modifieds will be running their Tri Track Challenge on June 12th. June 15th will be Night of NASCAR Stars II with Tony Stewart, Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader with POWRi Midgets and Mircos plus UMP Modifieds, and Street Stocks. On June 17th Macon Speedway will host an open practice session for all cars. June 18th will kick off the 1st Ever Building Systems of Illinois Mini Sprint Nationals sponsored by Hollingsworth Performance and Hyper Chassis for 2 days of racing as they race for $5K to Win on June 19th.

Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September. With many fan favorite events on schedule, including three “Night of NASCAR Stars” nights planned and the famous Herald and Review 100, UMP’s premier Summer National event, 2010 is stacking up to be a memorable year. Macon Speedway where every Saturday Night we race gates will open at 5:00 and racing will start at 7:00. Adults are $12 and kids 12 and under get in for free with a paying adult. The congregation that mentions their churches pastor whom is racing will receive half price admission.
