Just to let everyone know Roger Fohne"s father passed way. I will post more for everyone when i find out.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fohne family at this sad time.

The world has lost someone very special in Ervin Fohne. He was one of the first people I ever met at the races. Over the years he became a very good friend, someone I looked forward to seeing every week. He always stopped by my Junior Fan Club table each and every week to discuss the events of the past week, his farming, Cathy's going to school at McKendree and driving past his farm in her "little red car" honking her horn at him to say "Hi Ervin!", Jimmy's constant predicaments, and the upcoming night's races with me. I learned a lot about racing from him, as he taught me to see the manuveurs and techniques of the various drivers by his questioning me about what happened.

I will miss him on the back side of the track at Belleville, as will all of his friends and racing buddies who sat with us up there. Your grief is shared by many.

To Rita and all the family, may the thoughts and prayers of all those who love you help sustain you at this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of this situation. No one wants to lose someone, especially a parent. May tomorrow be a brighter day.

The funeral arrangements for Ervin P. Fohne are:

Meyer Funeral Home

Lebanon, IL 62254

Visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 and 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Feb. 7

Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Lebanon. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon.

Memorials to Family Hospice of Belleville, Illinois Area or Masses.

I know my aunt & uncle (Roger & Robin), and my cousins (Tim, Nathan, & Becky) are very saddened by this loss. I even thought of Ervin as a grandpa at times. He will be very dearly missed by everyone in the racing family at Belleville and Highland.
