WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (March 25) – One of the longest partnerships in Late Model racing continues in 2010 as the Deery Brothers Automotive Group returns for its 19th consecutive season as title sponsor of IMCA’s Summer Series.
The largest retailer of new and pre-driven cars, trucks and vans in Iowa, Deery will pay a portion of the $20,400 in point fund money to top 15 drivers in point standings for the upcoming tour.
Sixteen race dates are on the schedule, at tracks in Iowa and Illinois.
"The Deery Brothers Automotive Group has been as consistent as the series itself over the years, and the 2010 season will be distinguished as the prelude to a trio of milestones in 2011,” noted Kevin Yoder, marketing and tour director for IMCA. “We are building toward the 25th anniversary of the tour, the 20th with Deery Brothers as the title sponsor and the 300th event that Deery has supported since their partnership began with us in 1992.”
“The longevity is remarkable and a testament to the success of this relationship," he added.
34 Raceway at West Burlington hosts the first and final series events of 2010, the April 10 Slocum 50 Memorial and the Pepsi USA Nationals on Sept. 17-18.
Quincy, Ill., Raceway and Boone Speedway both roll out the carpet for two dates. The series is at Quincy on April 11 and on June 13 for the Titan Wheel & Tire Shootout special. Races at Boone are on Memorial Day May 31 and on Labor Day Sept. 6 for opening night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.
A first ever visit is in the works at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway on April 18. The Harris Clash program is July 8 at Knoxville Raceway.
Completing the schedule are races April 16 at Davenport Speedway, April 17 at Jackson County Speedway in Maqu¬oketa, May 18 at Marshalltown Speedway, June 30 at Independence Motor Speedway, July 21 at Southern Iowa Speed¬way in Oskaloosa, Aug. 3 at Farley Speedway, Aug. 16 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway in Des Moines and Sept. 4 at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson.
The Pepsi pays $10,000 to win while first place in both the Slocum 50 and Titan Wheel & Tire Shootout will be good for $3,000. All other features will pay $2,000 to win.
All drivers are required to display two Deery Brothers decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares.
Jeff Aikey won his career sixth series championship last season; 149 different drivers competed at one or more events in 2009, with 95 of them taking the green flag in at least one feature.
Three hundred and fifty two events were held over the course of the tour’s first 23 years, the last 281 of those races under the Deery banner.
Deery Brothers has more than 3,000 new and pre-driven vehicles at outlet and service centers in West Burlington, Carlisle, Maquoketa, Cedar Falls and Waterloo.

VINTON, Iowa (March 25) – Top 15 drivers in final standings for the Deery Brothers Summer Series receive shares of the IMCA Late Model tour point fund again in 2010.
The champion earns $5,000 of the $20,400 to be paid out this fall. Sixteen events are on the upcoming schedule.
“The point fund is based on the number of events scheduled,” IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root said. “Drivers who finish in the top 15 need to compete at every event in order to receive 100 percent of their point fund share. If not, the amount they receive will be determined based on the number of races they attended.”
Fifteenth place will pay $300 to a driver competing all 16 nights. Any rainouts that cannot be rescheduled will not affect the total or individual point fund amounts.
All events will pay a minimum of $2,000 to win and $250 to start. Non-feature qualifiers will get $100.
“A conscious effort was made to make it easier for drivers and race tracks alike to be part of the 24th annual series,” said Root. “The support this tour continues to receive from the Deery Brothers Automotive Group is outstanding and we look forward to a very good year.”
Theme for the upcoming series is “The Power of Ten,” which bears both the obvious mathematical and 2010 season references.
