(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team wrapped up the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series portion of their 2017 schedule on October 20-21 in the 37th Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship' at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. A stellar field of 72 competitors converged at the southern Ohio facility - located on the banks of the Ohio River - for the $100,000 to win crown jewel spectacular. On Friday night at PRP, Dennis Erb, Jr. drove his #26 throwback entry (paying homage to his late father) to a second place finish in his first heat race of the evening, while he placed seventh in his second and final prelim.

In Saturday's B-Main, Dennis grabbed the second and final transfer spot to earn the inside of the eleventh row for the start of the 100-lap headliner. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout then climbed up inside of the top ten during the caution-plagued DTWC and eventually wound up tenth in the final finishing order. Following the season finale, Dennis was officially awarded eighth in the final version of the LOLMDS point standings. Full results from the DTWC weekend can be obtained by pointing your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com.

The #28 team will now dip south for the next several weekends including a stop on October 27-28 to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for the 23rd edition of the 'Coors Light Fall Classic.' Qualifying and heat races will kick things off this Friday night in the Magnolia State, while consolation events and the 100-lap main event are slated for Saturday evening. A $15,000 top prize has once again been established for the 'Coors Light Fall Classic,' while each feature starter is guaranteed at least $1,000. Dennis, who is usually consistently fast each time he visits Whynot, won a heat race last year before bagging a strong fifth place performance in the 100-lapper behind only winner David Breazeale, Scott Bloomquist, Dane Dacus, and Tyler Erb.
