(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team returned to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series scene on August 10-12 at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The three-day weekend at the Cincinnati-area facility started on Thursday night with the 'North/South Shootout,' which paid $10,000 to the winner. Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in twentieth fastest in Group B during qualifying prior to blasting to second in his loaded heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature from the outside of the fifth row, Dennis hung around the top ten in the caution-free affair before settling for a twelfth place showing.

On Friday evening, preliminary action for the 35th edition of the 'North/South 100' got underway at the undersized 1/2-mile oval with a double set of qualifying heat races. Dennis placed seventh in his first heat race, but unfortunately suffered a flat tire before the drop of the green flag in his final prelim. He then ran fifth in his B-Main on Saturday and utilized a series provisional to gain access into the $50,000 to win headliner. During the course of the 100-lapper, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout was making strides forward until breaking a rear-end on the 38th circuit, which dropped him to twenty-second in the final finishing order. Another weekend and another crown jewel event for the #28 team, as they will venture south on August 18-19 to Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas for the 25th Annual 'Comp Cams Topless 100.' The popular roof-less spectacular will start on Friday with time trials and heat races, while consolation events and the 100-lap main event will take center stage on Saturday. This year's version of the 'Topless 100' will once again boast a $40,000 top prize and will pay at least $2,000 to every feature starter. With last year's race wiped out by inclement weather, Dennis netted a strong ninth place performance in the last 'Topless 100' held in 2015 and will come into this weekend eighth in the current version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
