Congratulations to BILL FRYE and family. Bill, Carol and Madison welcomed the newest member of the Frye family Friday January 30. The beautiful, bouncing baby girl weighed in at 7lbs 8oz and is 19" long. Her name hasn't been selected yet and has been a matter of debate.

MATT MILLER and his team are going to challenge several of the other top dirtcar drivers in the nation for the 2004 Stacker2 Xtreme Dirtcar "YJ Stinger Cup". Long time crew chief Scott Smith resumes his role as head wrench. Primary sponsors returning to the car include: Stephen McCullough Industries, Lo-Temp Brazing, Whaley and Sons Collision, McDonald's Refrigeration, Banshee Motorsports Decals and Design, Jones Racing Products, Russell Baker Racing Engines, and Rocket Chassis. DALE MCDOWELL Racing of Chickamauga, GA will make their first race appearance of 2004 next week with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL. McDowell is one of the “Dirty Dozen” that will be following the WoO Late Model circuit this season in pursuit of becoming their first National Champion. The team will be powering the new Pontiac Grand Prix with RaceTek Engines of Dalton, GA throughout the 2004 season. McDowell will continue to support all chassis manufacturer’s sold by Larry Shaw Race Cars.

Petroff Towing, of Caseyville, IL, will be the main sponsor of DENNIS ERB Racing this year. Erb is again planning on running the entire UMP Summernationals tour this year, while hitting all of the major shows across the Midwest.

United Midwestern Promoters founder and president Bob Memmer was hospitalized in mid-January with a broken pelvis that he sustained in a fall and has faced various complications during his hospitalization and road to recovery.

United Midwestern Promoters announced their working 2004 U.M.P. Summernationals schedule. The 2004 U.M.P. Summernationals tour offers twenty-six adrenalin-filled nights of competition in a twenty-seven day period between June 21 and July 17. The 2004 O'Reilly Auto Parts NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts has announced a 23 race schedule for the upcoming season with two more dates to be confirmed in the future. The series beginning its third year of sanctioning dirt late model racing welcomes O'Reilly Auto Parts as the title sponsor for the series. O'Reilly Auto Parts currently has 19 store locations throughout the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. The 2004 Rookie of the Year program will be announced in the coming weeks. www.naradirtcar.com

Bobby Jackson, 41, has been officially named by Boundless C.O.O. Bobby Hartslief as the Director of Competition for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.

The 2004 Northern Xtreme Dirt Car Series points championship, worth $30,000 to the champion, will see veteran drivers such as Davey Johnson, Donnie Moran, John Mason, 2003 series "Rookie of the Year" Dave Troutman and Bill Cunningham making a run at the championship while young hotshoes Steve Casebolt, Sean Cosgrove, Eric Myers and D.J. Troutman will battle the veterans.

Joe Castagnolo of Gamblers Raceway Park and ULMS Director, Chris Zuver have agreed to a $1500 to win 30 lap "MAY DAY" late model show on Sunday, May 2 at the Clearfield, Pennsylvania 1/4 mile oval.

New owner of Wayne County (OH) Speedway Ernie Coffman has done away with beer sales (coolers permitted), lowered some concession prices and has a new admission policy: The only fans required to purchase a ticket are people old enough for a driver’s license.

JAZ Products will award a tidy $12,000-plus in contingency awards this season to I.M.C.A. drivers in four divisions. Late Model, Sprint Car and Stock Car national champions and the top drivers in each of the seven regions for Modifieds each are in line for $500 awards.
