Dixon will not be going to the Big E. We will be racing Sadalia Mo. this weekend. Then next week we go to Bardstown, and then the following week we go to Yakima Washinton. I hope this helps you out to where you would like to go. I will try to update on here on how Ed is doing when I get word. I would like to wish Ed and Danny good luck in the next 3 weeks.
Your #1 fan
Oh My Gosh!!! I'm gonna be in heaven, one of the UMP boys are coming my way. Good luck big Ed at Sedalia, I'll be pulling for you, now I really can't wait for this event. How 'bout it UMP fans, you gonna follow Ed out here. Hope to see some #50 shirts in the stands.
Sedalia is definitely the plan for this weekend, however the next two weeks are still up in the air a little bit. We may go to South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Yakima is on the schedule, but it is weather pending, the mountains could be nasty in late October. This is a race for the new PCDLM (Pacific Coast Dirt Late Model) series.
Sedalia is not a bad drive at all. I am very familiar with driving back from near St. Louis quite a few times in the summer when I come home for Summer Nationals races and other races. When I do go home I can make it anywhere from 3.5 to 4 hours and that is coming from Whiteman Air Force Base, which is 20 miles more west than Sedalia, I'm originally from Pocahontas, IL, which is about 37 miles east of St. Louis. I would say if you're coming from the close-proximity of St. Louis you could get to Sedalia in three hours and it is a very easy drive. If using I-270, from IL, use the I-370 bypass and come back on to I-70 in O'Fallon, MO, and then straight on over West on I-70 to Highway 65 south. Once you get on 65 South stay on until you get to Sedalia, which is about 20 miles. You'll go through the intersection of Highways 50 and 65 straight up to the fairgrounds, from there you'll see signs for the MO State Fair Fairgrounds and should see the huge grandstands by then. It's gonna be awesome watching someone I used to and still love to watch from the St. Louis-area tracks run out here where I'm stationed now, I am stoked beyond belief that big Ed is coming out here! Hope to see some "UMP" driver shirts in the stands.
