The Field is set as Double Features for UMP Late Models and Street Stocks set the stage at PIR this Friday.

(Paducah, KY.) The rain of last Friday night and the showers that ended up cutting the racing short on April 7th has set the stage for an exciting night of racing featuring double features for the UMP Late Models and Street Stocks at Paducah international Raceway. The starting order for the UMP Late Model feature has Terry English and Kevin Cole starting on the front row with UMP Rookie of the year candidate Matt Liner and Dylan Thompson in the 2nd row. The 3rd row will feature Michael Steele and Bill Millikan with the fourth row having Brandon Chappell and Jarryd Holshouser. Row 5 has Scott Riggs and Keith Page, row 6 shows 2 UMP Rookie of the year candidate in Chris Shelton and Rusty Griffaw. The final 3 starters in the feature will be Danny Adams, Phil Walker and Willie Lang. The UMP Pure stock feature has Darrell Hartman and Paul Howard on the front row with Mike Watson and Harvey Edwards (who are currently 1st and 2nd in National UMP points) in the 2nd row. Lloyd Lingle and Tony Boyd make up row 3 with Rich Armour and Terry Jones set to start in the final 2 spots.


Emotions will be running high as drivers in both divisions will have the opportunity to not only pick up a feature win, but to also grab hold of those ever so precious track and UMP National points. The winner of the Late Model division season points battle will not only receive a cash reward but also a new C.J. Rayburn Late Model Chassis. The Modified champion will receive a chassis from Bob Pierce racecars. The Crate Late Model Division Champion will receive a new power plant from Wier Chevrolet, and the Street Stock Champion will be racing for cash and a new set of Hoosier Tires plus much more for all of the winners.

Pit gates open at 4 pm with grandstands open at 5 pm. Tickets for Adults are $10. Kids 12 and under are Free. Tickets for NASCAR Night II featuring Carl Edwards, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace are on sale now for May 17th. Call the PIR Hotline at 270-448-4PIR for more information.

Paducah International Raceway is a high-banked 3/8th mile dirt oval that is deep in tradition being the home to the Wayne Coakley/ Bob Memmer USA World 50 and the TRI-TRACK Challenge.
