Lincoln, Ill. (June 26) – Doug Heck led every lap of the 20-lap Outlaw Wingless Sprint Car feature on the Logan County Fairgrounds ¼-mile. The Brazil, Ind. native collected $1,000 for the effort. Heck won the dash and started up front and was never challenged throughout the event. Donnie Gentry’s first appearance at the track resulted in a runner-up finish. Craig Budde, Dave Anderson, and Terry Babb all completed their best finishes of the season as the remainder of the top five.

Danny Glover stayed glued to Terry Miller’s back bumper for the entire 15-lap Street Stock race distance but it was Miller holding on to the top spot to claim his second straight win. Glover settled for second while eighteenth starter Jim Quinn worked traffic to finish third. Larry Russell, Jr. and Chris Tackett ended the event in the top five.

Jeff Leka made another drop-in appearance count in the UMP Modified 20-lapper. The current UMP National runner-up maneuvered around pole starter Tim Beck and set sail for his second win of 2005. Doug Hobbs moved from fifteenth to pass Beck on the last lap for second. Marty Hiser and Roben Huffman finished in the top five.

Christopher Massey drove away from the 600cc Outlaw Mini Sprint field. The Clinton, Ill. driver is the first to ten wins at the facility as he beat Neil Shepherd to the line. Max Pozsgai, Zach Daum, and Ryan Jones rounded out the top five.

J. R. Eskew picked up another Wild Thing feature win in their 15-lapper. Eric Keymon gave it a run but could not get the run he needed and finished in second. Matt Turley came across the line in third while Steve Huffman and Elmer Well completed the top five.

July 3rd will bring a 40-lap Wynn’s Sportsman Qualifier event into the Lincoln Speedway. The event will cap a three night swing at Jacksonville, Fairbury, and Lincoln. UMP Modifieds will take the weekend off as Late Models, Street Stocks, and Wild Things will fill out the card. Grandstand admission is $12 while pit passes are $25.
