DQ Clash Set For April 10 at Spoon River

BELLEVILLE, IL: Exciting midget and non winged sprint car racing will make an early spring visit to the Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Il on Sunday April 10 for the DQ Clash.

The midgets, sanctioned by the Midwest Auto Racing Association (M.A.R.A.), and sprints sanctioned by the Midwest Sprint Car Series (M.S.C.S.) will compete as the headline divisions. Both the midgets and sprints will be competing for $1500 to win and $200 to start. The high banked 3/8 mile clay oval is a perfect track for both sprints and midgets.

Dairy Queen of Petersburg and Sherman, Illinois have signed on as the sponsor for the event. $3 off discount coupons will be made available at both the Petersburg and Sherman Dairy Queen locations after January 1, 2005.

The M.A.R.A midgets make an annual appearance at Spoon River, but this will be the first ever appearance by the M.S.C.S. non winged sprint car series. Sam Stockon, Director of the Midwest Sprint Car Series, has put together a very competitive series that receives tremendous support from both fans and drivers alike.

In addition to the sprints and midgets, UMP modifieds will be in competition for $500 to win and 4 cyclinder hornets will compete for $125 to win.

Pit gates open at 12:00. Spectator gates open at 2:00. Hot laps will hit the track at 3:00. The first heat is scheduled for 4:00. Grandstand admission is $20. Children 7 -12 are $5. Children 6 & under will be admitted free of charge Pit passes are $25.

I am glad to see an event like this at canton. It is nice to have the Knowels memorial race at the end of the year but we need more sprintcar races at canton. Hopefully you can get the All Stars back. I know you lost your *** the first time but the weather was bad. Thanks for doing this and hopefully you can get more shows there next year.:)
